J. McLaughlin is known for their beautiful prints and this dress is no exception. Truthfully, I didn’t love it at first, but as soon as I put it on, I thought it was gorgeous. I have another dress this similar style, and I love it. Their Catalina Cloth fabric not only feels great, but also washes so well. Even though I don’t travel a ton for work, I usually pack J. McLaughlin dresses because they don’t wrinkle! They fold and unfold perfectly.
Of course the number one reason I even eyed it? It is on sale! Over half off! This is the time of year I typically score some great J. McLaughlin pieces (as well as my hubs…they have great men’s stuff).
Finally got to wear this adorable dress when I had a client meeting…and I bought it the beginning of last summer on sale. It’s Ted Baker. Every TB dress I own, I always feel so confident and this one is no exception. The soft fabric, the feminine fit, the cute details. It all just works. And who doesn’t want another staple black dress in their closet?!
Dress – Ted Baker London Embroidered Collar Fit & Flare (here on super sale in pink); Shoes – Christian Louboutin Simple Pump; Earrings and Ring – Lagos (similar ring); Bracelet – Handmade with antique Chanel button
This Daybreak dress I recently got a J. Crew Factory is easily going to be one of my favorites this summer. It is such a great cut – and it’s perfect to wear to work or for play. My office tends to be the temperature of a refrigerator, so adding a cardigan to the look was easy – and cute. The dress comes in so many different colors. My coworker had the hot pink one on the other day with a chunky gold necklace, and it looked absolutely adorable. Also, getting it at the Factory store guaranteed a great price too. They always have incredible sales! And yay to that!
I’ve discovered that I really do hate dress pants. But when you are in the working world, they are an evil necessity. So if I have to buy them, they are at least going to be fun! I bought these last spring at The Limited, and I love the pattern and color!
I thought the pants coordinated well with my new pale pink Ted Baker top. I love when Ted has his sales (look, I sound like I know him like he’s my buddy!)…and I got this a couple of months ago. You may say, “Why has you waited so long to wear it?!” Because I’m a lazy ironer. Since I ordered it online, it came with a million wrinkles. I knew this top couldn’t be ironed. So there it hung in my closet…me willing the wrinkles to just miraculously fall out. Guess what? Uh…they didn’t. In comes my new Conair steamer! It worked like a charm! So I wore this top the first chance I got.
I love mixing patterns and prints, so why not go ahead and throw leopard in there?! It’s my new neutral 🙂
If you love Banana Republic like I do, you know that last weekend they had women’s styles 40% off. Well…let’s just say I needed some retail therapy after a very hard 4th quarter at work and bought a few things.
I don’t own that many silk shirts, but I love how flowy they are and the many different ways you can wear them. I actually picked up three silk shirts on this shopping trip! For this particular one, I love how the cuffs had the pop of color.
I have to admit since I’ve been at my current job, I don’t wear a lot of pants. Jeans, yes. But typical “work” pants, not so much. But I fell in love with these hot pink pants. I love the jacquard with subtle print.
Let’s see how I pulled it together with subtle pops of animal print in the belt and shoes (and no, I didn’t see that on their website before I styled it! LOL).
