Jersey material is a fav of mine. For starters, it doesn’t wrinkle which means I don’t have to iron or steam it. But I also love the way it hangs and hugs. Add a faux wrap to the dress design, and it’s such a great combo in my book. The hubs actually bought this dress for me, which I love when he picks out things he thinks I would look great in. This Hale Bob dress has the fun color combination the brand is known for. I love the deep maroon, lime green, blue, and taupe. They all work so well together.
I guess this summer I had a slight obsession with Lilly Pulitzer. Not sure why, but the bright colors really drew me in. Same goes for when I saw this Sloane maxi dress. For one, I love maxis. Two, it was jersey material that doesn’t easily wrinkle. Three, the Roar Of The Seas print is so pretty. I do have to say though, I had to wear my tallest wedges with this…it’s so long! I definitely think I need to go to the tailor to have it hemmed a little bit. There are multiple prints of this dress, and with the ruching of the waist, it’s flattering on so many body types. Highly recommend this dress!
Not very often to do I ever buy things full price at Anthro…except for this dress. When we were in NYC and walked into their gorgeous store in Rockefeller Center, I knew I wanted to try this on. I love yellow, love a good floral print, love ruffles, and love small details. Yes, I splurged. But of course, now it’s on sale. Always works out that way.
If you’ve been eyeing it, you can grab it for $99 with an extra 25% off! This dress looks so much better in person than online…much brighter and more vibrant colors. And if you are a working momma like me, it’s office appropriate…it has a nude slip underneath.
And can I tell you how much I love my Fitbit Flex holder by Tory Burch?! I have been wearing by Flex for three years this month, and I’m glad I finally broke down and bought one!
Dress – Plenty by Tracy Reece Sungrove Maxi; Wedges – Corso Como Gladis; Bracelets – Henri Bendel (sold out except for the Petite Enamel Cuff); Tory Burch Fitbit Flex Holder (in silver on sale); Watch – Rolex
I stalked this dress for over a year…and my stalking paid off because I only paid $80 for this gorgeous beauty! Being patient is worth it sometimes I guess! 🙂
I just love the colors so much. It has my favorite cobalt blue and pinks, and I even love the brownish flowers they threw in there too. The fabric is thick and the dress is so well made. They still have this in many sizes on kate spade’s website for $196 – but I suggest you try your nearest kate spade outlet to see if they have it like I did.
Finally…I broke down and bought a Tory Burch Fitbit Flex holder. My colorful rubberized bands just didn’t make the cut with some of my clothing choices. And what a great investment this was! Feels just like a normal bracelet…and I don’t workout in it obviously. The rubberized bands still get used for that for sure.
One thing I love about Georgia’s winters are you can (most of the time) get away with layering to stay warm without having to wear a jacket. To me, this is fantastic after growing up in Illinois. I find layering a button up and sweater is one of the easiest outfits for me in the late fall and winter.
I’ve been loving C. Wonder lately…as I posted about my great find last week, too. The colors of this sweater just screamed at me at the store. I knew I had a few different ways I could wear it. One being, over a striped button up I have. Pair it with some jeans and booties. And there you have it! Easy peasy!
Last week, I featured one of the great dresses I got in my latest Stitch Fix. Well…drum roll please…here is the other one I kept. My Stitch Fix stylist listened to exactly what I wanted – “a great fall print dress!” Doesn’t this dress fit that perfectly?! The colors. The print. They are divine!
Now, I love dresses. Sometimes too much. But I don’t have any dresses with such a great print like this. The fabric is so sturdy and thick enough to keep me warm in the late fall and winter if I pair it with tights. The fit and flare style has definitely become my favorite cut.
Not only do I love dresses, but also purses rank high on my list. And I carry a lot o’ crap in my purse…I think it’s a mom thing. But I’ve got to carry stuff “just because I might need it.” Puuuhhhhlllleeeeeze. I never use half of it. Anyway…I had my eye on this Henri Bendel beauty since it came out. It comes in so many beautiful colors, but this rich brown caught my eye. It’s such a great quality leather that will last forever…and a day. Then I had a discount…and I bought myself a present. 🙂
Dress – via Stitch Fix; Necklace – Spartina; Watch – Michael Kors; Bracelet – Tory Burch; Purse – Henri Bendel Carlyle Tote; Shoes – Christian Louboutin
The Porcupine boutique in Hilton Head Island was having a great sale, and I picked up this fun Tory Burch Kinsley dress…at a great price.
When I first tried it on, I thought to myself “Emily, you have enough dresses. You don’t need any more.” This was Tuesday.
On Thursday, mom and I were shopping in the Wexford plaza again and stopped in. Again, I picked up the dress. Mom goes, “Emily, you have enough dresses.” So I put it back on the rack.
And I kept thinking about how much I love this dress…
On Friday, I bought the dress. I needed it. 🙂
In case you love this dress, too, it’s on sale at toryburch.com. It is a wonderful stretchy material and is super comfy!
Dress – Tory Burch Kinsley; Shoes – DVF; Bracelets – Spartina and Michael Kors; Earrings – Coach; Watch – Michael Kors
In the south, I’ve seen more monograms than ever before. Not sure why it’s so popular down here, but it just is. I’ve even seen monogram car decals. Yes, you read that right. People actually have monogrammed initials on their back car windows.
Well, I thought I would jump on the bandwagon with this sweater for three reasons – 1. I love C. Wonder 2. I love the pink and navy combo of this sweater and 3. I knew exactly how I would style it. Oh…and if I have to add in a #4, the price was just right!
Now that I think about it, it’s also a little Laverne-esque, don’t you think? She sported the giant L back in the ’70s, so I thought why not sport a big E in the ’10s! I of course had to prep mine up a little with the collared shirt underneath. It’s my thing. 🙂
Sweater – C. Wonder (similar); Shirt – Banana Republic; Jeans – Old Navy; Booties – Tory Burch; Watch – Michael Kors
Do you have any monogrammed clothing items?
I had to wear business attire to work EVERY day for the first 7.5 years of my career. Yeah. I owned a lot of suits. And I have to admit, the only time I wear a suit now is for a client meeting. Can I tell you how much I love being able to dress casual every day?! Well, I do.
No matter if you are a stay-at-home mom or out in the workforce, a classic black blazer is a staple. I got this one a year ago on super sale at Bloomingdale’s. You can’t beat getting a great Ted Baker blazer on sale. I have to admit, I don’t wear this piece enough! As I was deciding what to wear for our family Valentine’s Day dinner the other night, I was just going to wear this striped blouse. BUT, it needed something else. DUH! My black blazer! I think it just completed the outfit…
Jacket – Ted Baker; Blouse – Banana Republic; Jeans – William Rast; Heels – Jessica Simpson; Earrings; vintage Chanel; Bracelet – Tory Burch; Watch – Michael Kors
Thanks, momma, for getting me these great vintage earrings for Christmas! Now y’all can see where I get my great taste from!
Do you have a classic black blazer in your closet? How often do you wear it?
