This Daybreak dress I recently got a J. Crew Factory is easily going to be one of my favorites this summer. It is such a great cut – and it’s perfect to wear to work or for play. My office tends to be the temperature of a refrigerator, so adding a cardigan to the look was easy – and cute. The dress comes in so many different colors. My coworker had the hot pink one on the other day with a chunky gold necklace, and it looked absolutely adorable. Also, getting it at the Factory store guaranteed a great price too. They always have incredible sales! And yay to that!

Polka Dots and Striped Pants

I’ve been a fan of mixing prints when I can! This outfit was easy to put together. Pattern mixing is easy when you keep in the same color family…so I stuck with my favorite color of blue.

And I can’t tell you enough great things about these JMcLaughlin Madera striped pants! They are like comfortable leggings but with a side zipper. These pants are on sale for under $60! In the hotter temperatures, I don’t love wearing pants, but these are so comfortable and cute I made the exception. (And have I mentioned my office is like working in a meat locker sometimes!)

I love to play with mixing prints, but I’ve never mixed my stripes. Until now. Stripes mixed. I was going to go with the same solid color t-shirt until I stopped myself and told myself to try something new! So here’s the result! With the blue and red, I guess I was still feeling patriotic after Memorial Day. 🙂

Soma’s Foldover Striped Maxi Dress

soma maxi

I love stripes! And I love Soma dresses! So I knew the combo would be a win-win when I saw this online. I own a few Soma dresses, and the fabrics they use are always so soft and comfortable – and don’t wrinkle! While I was on vacation, I knew I wanted something I could throw on quickly in the morning – and this dress fit the bill. Oh…and did I mention this can also be a maxi skirt?! Yeppers! Just fold that top half down and you are good to go.

Another bonus about this dress – it’s on sale! It’s half off. I highly recommend this dress – but size down.

I didn’t get a standalone picture, but here’s one with one of our favorite princesses 🙂

Feeling Preppy in Polka Dots and Stripes

Over the last two years, I have accumulated a LOT of button up shirts. They are just so versatile and can be worn year round. And while I’ve loved the button ups, I am pretty sure it always makes me look like a prepster. That is completely fine with me, too. Sometimes a good polished look makes me feel good. And fashion is supposed to make you feel good, right?!

On top of wearing a lot of button ups, I’ve dabbled in the mixing of prints every now and again. This mix was pretty “safe”…navy polka dots and stripes. Simple. Classic. Preppy.

Love it. Of course with a pop of color. Y’all know I love color.
