I heart J. McLaughlin’s dresses. And this Kasia Rouched Dress is no exception. I packed this in a suitcase to go to a conference, and it had zero wrinkles when I unpacked it! You’ve got to love fabrics like that. Not to mention it’s ridiculously comfortable. Oh, and did I mention it’s on sale for $84?! Originally $205?! Now that’s a fantastic deal, people. These dresses wash so well and are totally worth a few extra dollars. Ok, maybe not the $205, but definitely the $84 🙂 J. McLaughlin is having a fantastic sale right now with an EXTRA 40% off. Check it out here.
I guess this summer I had a slight obsession with Lilly Pulitzer. Not sure why, but the bright colors really drew me in. Same goes for when I saw this Sloane maxi dress. For one, I love maxis. Two, it was jersey material that doesn’t easily wrinkle. Three, the Roar Of The Seas print is so pretty. I do have to say though, I had to wear my tallest wedges with this…it’s so long! I definitely think I need to go to the tailor to have it hemmed a little bit. There are multiple prints of this dress, and with the ruching of the waist, it’s flattering on so many body types. Highly recommend this dress!
When I was on vacation, I stopped at a partner Lilly store, S. M. Bradford in Wexford. They have SO. MUCH. LILLY. What was even better? They had so much Lilly ON SALE. Now that’s my kind of Lilly! I just love the print on this Dahlia pleated sleeveless top. Love it even more with white jeans (and I won’t point out the two tiny chocolate spots I have on them!).
Top – Lilly Pulitzer Dahlia Pleated Front Top; Jeans – Banana Republic Ankle (on sale!); Wedges – Via Spiga (old); Necklace – Stella & Dot; Bracelets – Henri Bendel (one is sold out but the Petite Enamel is on sale still); Tory Burch Fitbit Flex holder (on sale in silver)
Y’all know I’m a huge sucker for dresses. Even a bigger sucker for fit and flare dresses! When I saw this color combo of teal and coral, I couldn’t resist (and I had a ton of Banana rewards). It’s so flowy and silky…and girlie. I kind of acted like I was five years old twirling around in it 🙂 When you feel good in your clothes, it’s amazing how it can change your whole mood for the day. This dress, it did just that. You can grab it on sale, but you have a better chance seeing if they have it in stores because it’s getting very low online. It’s totally worth the hunt though!
I was always a little unsure of the vest trend. But when J. Crew Factory has one of their great 40% off the whole store deals, I thought why not? I went with navy, since blue is one of my favorite colors and I knew I had a ton of different options to wear underneath.
I can’t tell you how much I have worn this vest! My other favorite way to wear it is with a plaid shirt underneath. It’s so easy just to throw on some skinnies and boots – and you’re done! Easy outfits are my favorite 🙂
Vest – J. Crew Factory (on sale!); Shirt – The Limited Perfect Tee (similar); Jeans – AG (similar); Boots – Frye Carmen Inside Zip (similar); Earrings – Stella & Dot (retired, but these are similar); Bracelet – Louis Vuitton Save It
Fall weather is an enigma to me. One day it’s 75, the next it’s 50. So if I’m wearing sweaters in this weird transition, I try to make sure they are somewhat thin where I won’t break into a nasty sweat the second I step outside in the afternoon.
This sweater is now one of my favorites. I won’t lie. I have this in two colors. It’s nice and thin, and I love how it’s long in the back…you could easily get away with wearing legging with this and it would easily cover your assets. 🙂 And did I mention it’s on sale? And I’m sure Banana will have a wicked good sale for Black Friday, so it will be even cheaper!
I’m a typical girl. I love jewelry. But, I have an exception to that statement. I love jewelry that can be worn so many ways. And these two necklaces and earrings are exactly what I’m referring to. Being clear stones, they go with everything! Even dressing up this flannel plaid shirt from J. Crew Factory.
The best part of this jewelry…ridiculously affordable. The longer necklace I picked up this fall at J. Crew Factory. Uh…for a whopping $24. The shorter necklace I eyed from Stella & Dot for a long time, and I finally caved almost two years ago. Again, I knew it would go with so much, from shirts and sweaters to dresses. It’s under $60, and for those of you have bought S&D before, you know it’s so well made.
Let’s not forget about the earrings. Talk about go with literally every outfit! These Nancy studs from Stella & Dot are a must. And again…only $24. These have become some of my go-to earrings. They are the perfect size that doesn’t swallow my earlobe.
If you are going to spend any money on jewelry this fall, I highly recommend these three pieces!
I couldn’t resist. I know. I know. You’re probably rolling your eyes at me. “Really? Another fit and flare dress, Emily?!” YES! When a dress is this cute, it just had to come home with me. I picked it up last month at the kate spade outlet. The collar is just so fun! (But I admit my hair caught it a few times.) I felt so dressed up even though the dress is actually denim.
I thought it needed a perfect pop of color. In comes these pink suede Sam Edelman Onyx pumps I picked up at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. I’m still breaking them in; my piggies are not used to pointy pumps! But how much fun are they?! I know these will be getting a lot of wear.

This top is like wearing artwork. I immediately gravitated towards it on the Anthro sales rack (I can’t find it online anymore – sorry!). I love clothes that are unique and colorful – and this top is most definitely both of those. With all of these great colors, I knew I had a few ways to style this, the first one being with this orangey J. Crew No. 2 pencil skirt. I have a blue pencil skirt that goes great too, but I like how the orange pulls from the faux belt in the top. I think it just ties it all together.
Happy Monday, everyone!
Are y’all tired of seeing my Annie Griffin finds at the warehouse sale?! Well, good thing this is my last one 🙂 Like the Lindsay dress I talked about last week, I got this gorgeous print dress for $82. Not only is the print beautiful and colorful, it’s comfortable! Has a nice elastic around the waist in case for over eating at dinner. I’m a sucka for interesting backs, too. This one fits the bill. For this hot and humid night in Hilton Head, it kept me somewhat cool – if that was possible.
The girl was also excited she could fit into a couple of dresses at Francesca’s. I remember when I could finally shop in the junior’s section, I thought that was just awesome. I just wish she would stop growing so fast!!
I scored at the Annie Griffin Warehouse Sale a while back. And it was fitting that I got the “Lindsey” dress with my coworker Lindsey. It was meant to be 🙂
I remember trying this dress on at Poppy’s in the spring, but the price tag definitely jumped out at me. Waiting paid off because I scored this beauty for $83! Uh…yes please!
I thought this was a perfect dress for my annual beach trip to Hilton Head Island! The colors just seem so summery and beachy to me. Even though I love to dress up, I loved this trip for the fact I probably put a full face of makeup on only twice. We ate so much at the house we rented (thanks to my mom, aunt, and uncle for doing most of the cooking!).
And look – I could even jump in this dress! I love being silly with my kiddos, and I think they love it, too ❤
I love dresses. If you have read by blog at all, you know that is a completely true statement. I prefer wearing dresses and skirts over pants or shorts any day. With the scorching temps in the ATL, dresses are just so much cooler. I’m all about comfort.
I spotted this fun denim dress on the Anthro sales rack. The flash on the camera makes the pattern pop more. In person, the pattern seems a little darker. But it has fantastic stretch – enough that I sized down. Also, this dress would be so easy to put with flat sandals to dress it down a bit.
Has anyone else found it so hard to resist all of these mid-summer sales?!
Annie Griffin has wonderful prints. Wonderful fabrics. But…the label is no longer going to be designing clothes 😦 So those of us in the Atlanta area got to partake on the warehouse sale last week! I scored this awesome Kelly Shift Dress in Medallion. It was an amazing deal, and y’all know I’m a sucker for a deal! I actually snagged it from a woman who didn’t like it. I did the whole “um, are you going to get that?” thing. No shame. I was surprised I liked the shift style, but it fit great. It wasn’t too tight around the hip and thigh area at all. Score one for me! I wore this out for dinner and I got so many compliments. Score another one!
I am not much of a clutch person, but I thought having a cute nude clutch would be a good addition to my purse collection. I love how it has a chain to carry on my shoulder…or I could carry it as a true clutch. Versatility at its best.
Nothing is better than a great print! I love a good pencil skirt, and I had my eye on this Ted Baker Crystal Droplets for a while. My favorite detail – the zipper that goes up the back. The little details make all the difference. I started out wearing a light pink shirt, and it looked ok, but I think the black pulled the print detail out even more. I’ve had this shirt forevaaaaaaa, and I knew I kept it for a reason.
Shirt – BCBGMaxAzria (old); Skirt – Ted Baker Crystal Droplets (sold out); Shoes – Ash (old); Bracelet and Earrings – Stella & Dot (old); Watch – Rolex
I know I know. Another Ted Baker. But this one is not my fault. I swear! My sweet hubs bought this for me because he thought I would look good in it. What a sweet gesture…and a self-esteem booster.
It was perfect for a wedding I went to last weekend. Even though I do have to say this fabric does NOT breathe. Like at all. Us girls were dancing like crazy, thus sweating up a storm. Whoah. I was so sweaty! Thank goodness the fabric is dark. But, it’s such a great stretchy fabric; I could even move on the dance floor. And that’s so important in my book 🙂 TB strikes again with a gorgeous sheath.

For spring break, we ventured on the high seas on the Disney Magic. This was our fourth Disney cruise, so we knew the drill. But I’m sure you can imagine what I love doing most on the cruise? Dressing up each night for dinner! If y’all haven’t noticed if you have followed by blog, I have an obsession with dresses (say it isn’t so!). Cruises are the perfect opportunity to get gussied up.
I’d thought I would put this post together because my other run down of outfits from the last cruises is my number one post of all time. Crazy! So here we go!
First night was cruise casual. It happened to also be Easter Sunday, so I thought this dress was a little Easter mixed with a little Caribbean.
Dress – Lilly Pulitzer (last season); Shoes – Charles by Charles David (old); Bracelet – Henri Bendel; Watch – Rolex; Purse – Louis Vuitton
The second night was formal night. I was so excited to wear this dress again. I first wore it in January to my work’s annual party. But this time was a whole separate look – no tights, no pumps, no necklace, and hair pulled back. It was so interesting seeing what some people thought “formal night” really was. But to each his/her own when it comes to fashion. But I’m pretty sure cargo khaki shorts and a polo shirt aren’t in the category of formal 🙂 Oh…and if you watched the RHOBH reunion show, this is the dress Kim Richards had on!
Dress – Ted Baker Jineen; Bracelets – Henri Bendel; Shoes – Ash (last season); Earrings – via Stitch Fix
On the girl – Dress by Ruby Rox at Von Maur
The next night was cruise casual again, and I couldn’t wait to wear this new Ted Baker Distinguishing Rose dress. I love everything about this dress, especially the tulip hem. It’s all in the details!
Dress – Ted Baker Distinguishing Rose; Bracelet – C. Wonder; Shoes – Charles by Charles David
I’ve had this beauty since the end of last season. I got it on super sale at the kate spade outlet store. I saw it on a blogger last year and fell in love. But, I wasn’t in love with the price tag. Good things come to those who wait! Snatched it up as I knew it would be perfect for cruising!
Dress – kate spade (last season); Bracelet – Spartina; Shoes – yep! Charles by Charles David again!
We dined in the adult-only restaurant, Palo. If you go on a Disney cruise, you must eat here. YOU MUST. (Or if you are on the Dream or Fantasy, here AND Remy’s!) It’s a little fancier, and I had yet another dress that was begging to be worn in my closet. I love the red and pink combo here!
This next night was actually semi-formal night. Well, this wasn’t what I had planned to wear, but it worked out perfectly. I love a good maxi and this one is no exception. I knew when Anthro came out with this beauty it had to be mine (insert villainous laugh here!).
Dress – Anthropologie SB by Sachin and Babi Marisol Maxi Dress; Bracelet – C. Wonder; Shoes – you guessed it…Charles by Charles David
On the girl – dress from Kohl’s IZ Amy Byer
So this pretty much sums up my evening attire. I’m saving my day outfits for separate posts, so you’ll have to come back and visit – or follow the blog! If you noticed, I wore my nude color Charles by Charles David wedges with about 75% of my dresses. I LOVE THESE SHOES! They are from a couple of season ago and need to be replaced, but I haven’t found the perfect pair yet. The leather is so scuffed at the front of the toe…I must drag my toes when I walk sometimes and not realize it.
Just remember when you are trying to figure out what to pack for a cruise: it’s really wear what you want to wear. Although in Palo or Remy, they are pretty strict (I believe guys need a jacket and women a dress, skirt or suit). It’s all about having fun! And my fun was getting dressed up!
It’s been so dreary and gray in the ATL lately. So, I busted out some pastels to lighten my mood! My uniform lately has been layering a button up with a sweater.
I thought why not add a little sparkle to my uni?! This Stella & Dot Somervell necklace is exactly what this outfit needed. But that wasn’t enough. I need more sparkle (said in my best Christopher Walken voice)!
So I added some beautiful mint drop earrings my momma got me and a Kendra Scott bracelet. I love mint. I’m so happy this color became popular a few years ago and has stayed.
And yes, I added another Tippi sweater to my collection. When they are on sale plus an additional 40% off, it’s hard to resist!
Sweater – J. Crew Tippi; Shirt – Old Navy (old); Jeans – AG Angel Bootcut; Booties – Ash (old); Necklace – Stella & Dot Somervell; Bracelets – Kendra Scott Raegan and Henri Bendel; Earrings – gift, but similar here; Watch – Rolex; Ring – Lagos
Merry Christmas Eve, everyone! I’ve been traveling a bit and have kind of neglected the blog (sorry, blog), but I get a week and a half off of work so maybe I’ll actually get caught up on some posts I’ve been wanting to do…just maybe 🙂
I love a great red dress. I love it even more when I can wear it to work too! This cute Betsey Johnson dress jumped off the rack at me at Nordstrom. Not only did I love the color, but fit and flare is by far my favorite dress shape.
The texture of this dress is perfect for winter. Makes me think of a cable knit ski sweater. I wanted to pair it with black tights and pops of animal print. If you’ve ever read my blog, you know I love animal print.
This gold necklace I got from Stella & Dot years ago, and it has become a great staple piece. It goes with everything – so simple, yet elegant and makes a subtle statement at the same time. They have a similar style now that you can find here.
I hope that everyone has a very Merry Christmas! Hopefully Santa brings you everything you wished for!

A lot of times, you might tend to build your outfit off of your shirt or pants. But then. You find these awesome shoes. And you want to build your outfit around them.
In walk (no pun intended) Sam Edelman’s Anastasia Cutout Sandals. Or should I say “in walks Ems to the Von Maur shoe sale room about four times before these were at the right price to finally buy?!?!?”
Aren’t they gorgeous? I just couldn’t resist. I love a great statement shoe. And this is definitely a statement shoe. So I built my outfit for work around them. A simple black top and pencil skirt – and I’m ready for work!
Oh hey, FitBit Flex, let me take you off since you aren’t the most fashion-forward “bracelet.” But if you are a FitBit wearer, you understand how your wrist feels naked when it’s not on!
Shoes – Sam Edelman Anastasia Cutout Suede Bootie (not on Von Maur’s site, but found here); Shirt – White House Black Market (old); Skirt – J. Crew Factory; Bracelets – Stella & Dot and Henri Bendel; Earrings – Vintage Chanel; Watch – Rolex
