My Jude Connally maxi I bought last year was one of my favorites. Not only the pattern, but the fabulous fabric. It doesn’t wrinkle and you can easily throw it in the wash. Easy peasy in my book. When I tried this Jude Connally on last month, I instantly fell in love. Who doesn’t love a great print…in your favorite colors…with pockets…and is work appropriate. All around wins in my fashion book.
I happen to have these blue wedges that matched perfectly with the bright blue hearts in the ikat pattern <3. Such an easy outfit to put together!
Happy Monday, everyone!
For spring break, we ventured on the high seas on the Disney Magic. This was our fourth Disney cruise, so we knew the drill. But I’m sure you can imagine what I love doing most on the cruise? Dressing up each night for dinner! If y’all haven’t noticed if you have followed by blog, I have an obsession with dresses (say it isn’t so!). Cruises are the perfect opportunity to get gussied up.
I’d thought I would put this post together because my other run down of outfits from the last cruises is my number one post of all time. Crazy! So here we go!
First night was cruise casual. It happened to also be Easter Sunday, so I thought this dress was a little Easter mixed with a little Caribbean.
Dress – Lilly Pulitzer (last season); Shoes – Charles by Charles David (old); Bracelet – Henri Bendel; Watch – Rolex; Purse – Louis Vuitton
The second night was formal night. I was so excited to wear this dress again. I first wore it in January to my work’s annual party. But this time was a whole separate look – no tights, no pumps, no necklace, and hair pulled back. It was so interesting seeing what some people thought “formal night” really was. But to each his/her own when it comes to fashion. But I’m pretty sure cargo khaki shorts and a polo shirt aren’t in the category of formal 🙂 Oh…and if you watched the RHOBH reunion show, this is the dress Kim Richards had on!
Dress – Ted Baker Jineen; Bracelets – Henri Bendel; Shoes – Ash (last season); Earrings – via Stitch Fix
On the girl – Dress by Ruby Rox at Von Maur
The next night was cruise casual again, and I couldn’t wait to wear this new Ted Baker Distinguishing Rose dress. I love everything about this dress, especially the tulip hem. It’s all in the details!
Dress – Ted Baker Distinguishing Rose; Bracelet – C. Wonder; Shoes – Charles by Charles David
I’ve had this beauty since the end of last season. I got it on super sale at the kate spade outlet store. I saw it on a blogger last year and fell in love. But, I wasn’t in love with the price tag. Good things come to those who wait! Snatched it up as I knew it would be perfect for cruising!
Dress – kate spade (last season); Bracelet – Spartina; Shoes – yep! Charles by Charles David again!
We dined in the adult-only restaurant, Palo. If you go on a Disney cruise, you must eat here. YOU MUST. (Or if you are on the Dream or Fantasy, here AND Remy’s!) It’s a little fancier, and I had yet another dress that was begging to be worn in my closet. I love the red and pink combo here!
This next night was actually semi-formal night. Well, this wasn’t what I had planned to wear, but it worked out perfectly. I love a good maxi and this one is no exception. I knew when Anthro came out with this beauty it had to be mine (insert villainous laugh here!).
Dress – Anthropologie SB by Sachin and Babi Marisol Maxi Dress; Bracelet – C. Wonder; Shoes – you guessed it…Charles by Charles David
On the girl – dress from Kohl’s IZ Amy Byer
So this pretty much sums up my evening attire. I’m saving my day outfits for separate posts, so you’ll have to come back and visit – or follow the blog! If you noticed, I wore my nude color Charles by Charles David wedges with about 75% of my dresses. I LOVE THESE SHOES! They are from a couple of season ago and need to be replaced, but I haven’t found the perfect pair yet. The leather is so scuffed at the front of the toe…I must drag my toes when I walk sometimes and not realize it.
Just remember when you are trying to figure out what to pack for a cruise: it’s really wear what you want to wear. Although in Palo or Remy, they are pretty strict (I believe guys need a jacket and women a dress, skirt or suit). It’s all about having fun! And my fun was getting dressed up!
This dress’s print just makes me happy. Who doesn’t love roses?! And who isn’t excited that I can wear this sleeveless dress outside?! With no coat on. In April. This is why I heart living in the south. Here’s to putting away the coats until next November!
It’s been so dreary and gray in the ATL lately. So, I busted out some pastels to lighten my mood! My uniform lately has been layering a button up with a sweater.
I thought why not add a little sparkle to my uni?! This Stella & Dot Somervell necklace is exactly what this outfit needed. But that wasn’t enough. I need more sparkle (said in my best Christopher Walken voice)!
So I added some beautiful mint drop earrings my momma got me and a Kendra Scott bracelet. I love mint. I’m so happy this color became popular a few years ago and has stayed.
And yes, I added another Tippi sweater to my collection. When they are on sale plus an additional 40% off, it’s hard to resist!
Sweater – J. Crew Tippi; Shirt – Old Navy (old); Jeans – AG Angel Bootcut; Booties – Ash (old); Necklace – Stella & Dot Somervell; Bracelets – Kendra Scott Raegan and Henri Bendel; Earrings – gift, but similar here; Watch – Rolex; Ring – Lagos
Ok, immediately Paula Abdul came into my head when I was thinking about a title for this post. Y’all know what I’m talking about…Cold Hearted Snake! I hearted her so much back in the day. But, this post isn’t to reminisce on my fav tunes from my younger days.
It is however a post about how much I love this snake print J. McLaughlin dress! I loved their end of the season sale a few weeks back. I got this amazing number at a whopping $69, marked down from $235+. Now that my friends is a freakin’ fantastic deal in my book.
Now, I know it’s not about finding great deals and adding stuff to my closet for no reason. Before I decided to make the purchase, I did stand in the dressing room and thought of the different ways I could wear it. One key thing – it is work appropriate. It’s not too tight. It’s not too short. The print isn’t too loud and crazy for the office. Win-win. This fabric is also one of my favorite parts. It doesn’t wrinkle! I loathe ironing, so the less I have to do of it the better. And did I mention it has little pockets?! Love that cute detail.
I was lucky and Georgia had a beautiful almost 60 degree day last week. So no tights needed! I also could wear my peep toe booties. I hope my Northeastern readers don’t hate me too much since I know you are buried in snow up to the wazoo!
Dress – J. McLaughlin; Booties – Coach; Necklace – Stella & Dot (retired La Coco); Watch – Rolex; Bracelet – David Yurman (similar)
Linking up with The Pleated Poppy.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine’s Day and got to spend it with your special someone.
Y’all know I love to get dressed up – and what better excuse than Valentine’s dinner. We celebrated in Highlands, NC, and let me tell you how chilly it was! So freakin’ cold! Literally the wind was howling. I really wanted to wear this red and pink dress, but I would have froze. So, luckily I bought this awesome DVF wrap dress on super sale at a great boutique, Rosenthal’s, on Saturday.
This dress immediately caught my eye. Just look at the print. It’s like a little optic illusion. And all of the colors at the bottom – just gorgeous. DVF wrap dresses are iconic. It’s fits wonderfully, but I definitely will have to wear a cami underneath to make it work appropriate. Love when I find dresses like this at 75% off…don’t hate on my knack on finding good deals 🙂
