I guess this summer I had a slight obsession with Lilly Pulitzer. Not sure why, but the bright colors really drew me in. Same goes for when I saw this Sloane maxi dress. For one, I love maxis. Two, it was jersey material that doesn’t easily wrinkle. Three, the Roar Of The Seas print is so pretty. I do have to say though, I had to wear my tallest wedges with this…it’s so long! I definitely think I need to go to the tailor to have it hemmed a little bit. There are multiple prints of this dress, and with the ruching of the waist, it’s flattering on so many body types. Highly recommend this dress!
Not very often to do I ever buy things full price at Anthro…except for this dress. When we were in NYC and walked into their gorgeous store in Rockefeller Center, I knew I wanted to try this on. I love yellow, love a good floral print, love ruffles, and love small details. Yes, I splurged. But of course, now it’s on sale. Always works out that way.
If you’ve been eyeing it, you can grab it for $99 with an extra 25% off! This dress looks so much better in person than online…much brighter and more vibrant colors. And if you are a working momma like me, it’s office appropriate…it has a nude slip underneath.
And can I tell you how much I love my Fitbit Flex holder by Tory Burch?! I have been wearing by Flex for three years this month, and I’m glad I finally broke down and bought one!
Dress – Plenty by Tracy Reece Sungrove Maxi; Wedges – Corso Como Gladis; Bracelets – Henri Bendel (sold out except for the Petite Enamel Cuff); Tory Burch Fitbit Flex Holder (in silver on sale); Watch – Rolex
Maxi dresses have definitely become a staple in my wardrobe. Nothing is easier to me in the mornings when I need a quick go-to outfit. This maxi from The Limited is full of beautiful colors, has pockets, and is so comfortable! I just happened to have this perfect goldish belt in my closet for a pop of color. Easy peasy outfit! This dress is on super sale too…grab it while you can (but size down)!
I stalked this Eliza J maxi dress last year. And I’m so glad I did…I got it on the Von Maur sales rack for a whopping $47! Virtually free, right?! I love maxi dresses, and this one checks off tons of my favorite things – belt, pleats, color, floral pattern, fun neckline. There are so many Eliza J dresses that I have on my wish list. They are just so feminine and girlie – just the perfect maxis. Let’s look at some of the great Eliza J options out right now (click on the picture for more details)…some of these are already on sale! If you have a baby shower, wedding, or any event where you want to look your best, her dresses are great!
I love stripes! And I love Soma dresses! So I knew the combo would be a win-win when I saw this online. I own a few Soma dresses, and the fabrics they use are always so soft and comfortable – and don’t wrinkle! While I was on vacation, I knew I wanted something I could throw on quickly in the morning – and this dress fit the bill. Oh…and did I mention this can also be a maxi skirt?! Yeppers! Just fold that top half down and you are good to go.
Another bonus about this dress – it’s on sale! It’s half off. I highly recommend this dress – but size down.
I didn’t get a standalone picture, but here’s one with one of our favorite princesses 🙂
When I saw this Annie Griffin Hudson Maxi dress at Poppy’s, a local Atlanta boutique, I was unsure about the Mykonos pattern. I was shopping with my coworkers and they said I had to try it on. So…I did. And I fell in love. The fabric is gorgeous – and surprisingly doesn’t even wrinkle being silk. It’s the perfect mix of colors – purples with a touch of green and orange. You know when you try something on and it’s just right? This is the dress. It was perfect to wear to a wedding last weekend.
I thought I would add in some silver touches. These Yurman pieces are special to me, as they were all gifts from my mom and dad over the years (yeah, I know…I have amazing gift-giving parents!). I love layering the different bracelets. They are such classics that I will wear forever. Nothing better than having jewelry that is timeless!
For spring break, we ventured on the high seas on the Disney Magic. This was our fourth Disney cruise, so we knew the drill. But I’m sure you can imagine what I love doing most on the cruise? Dressing up each night for dinner! If y’all haven’t noticed if you have followed by blog, I have an obsession with dresses (say it isn’t so!). Cruises are the perfect opportunity to get gussied up.
I’d thought I would put this post together because my other run down of outfits from the last cruises is my number one post of all time. Crazy! So here we go!
First night was cruise casual. It happened to also be Easter Sunday, so I thought this dress was a little Easter mixed with a little Caribbean.
Dress – Lilly Pulitzer (last season); Shoes – Charles by Charles David (old); Bracelet – Henri Bendel; Watch – Rolex; Purse – Louis Vuitton
The second night was formal night. I was so excited to wear this dress again. I first wore it in January to my work’s annual party. But this time was a whole separate look – no tights, no pumps, no necklace, and hair pulled back. It was so interesting seeing what some people thought “formal night” really was. But to each his/her own when it comes to fashion. But I’m pretty sure cargo khaki shorts and a polo shirt aren’t in the category of formal 🙂 Oh…and if you watched the RHOBH reunion show, this is the dress Kim Richards had on!
Dress – Ted Baker Jineen; Bracelets – Henri Bendel; Shoes – Ash (last season); Earrings – via Stitch Fix
On the girl – Dress by Ruby Rox at Von Maur
The next night was cruise casual again, and I couldn’t wait to wear this new Ted Baker Distinguishing Rose dress. I love everything about this dress, especially the tulip hem. It’s all in the details!
Dress – Ted Baker Distinguishing Rose; Bracelet – C. Wonder; Shoes – Charles by Charles David
I’ve had this beauty since the end of last season. I got it on super sale at the kate spade outlet store. I saw it on a blogger last year and fell in love. But, I wasn’t in love with the price tag. Good things come to those who wait! Snatched it up as I knew it would be perfect for cruising!
Dress – kate spade (last season); Bracelet – Spartina; Shoes – yep! Charles by Charles David again!
We dined in the adult-only restaurant, Palo. If you go on a Disney cruise, you must eat here. YOU MUST. (Or if you are on the Dream or Fantasy, here AND Remy’s!) It’s a little fancier, and I had yet another dress that was begging to be worn in my closet. I love the red and pink combo here!
This next night was actually semi-formal night. Well, this wasn’t what I had planned to wear, but it worked out perfectly. I love a good maxi and this one is no exception. I knew when Anthro came out with this beauty it had to be mine (insert villainous laugh here!).
Dress – Anthropologie SB by Sachin and Babi Marisol Maxi Dress; Bracelet – C. Wonder; Shoes – you guessed it…Charles by Charles David
On the girl – dress from Kohl’s IZ Amy Byer
So this pretty much sums up my evening attire. I’m saving my day outfits for separate posts, so you’ll have to come back and visit – or follow the blog! If you noticed, I wore my nude color Charles by Charles David wedges with about 75% of my dresses. I LOVE THESE SHOES! They are from a couple of season ago and need to be replaced, but I haven’t found the perfect pair yet. The leather is so scuffed at the front of the toe…I must drag my toes when I walk sometimes and not realize it.
Just remember when you are trying to figure out what to pack for a cruise: it’s really wear what you want to wear. Although in Palo or Remy, they are pretty strict (I believe guys need a jacket and women a dress, skirt or suit). It’s all about having fun! And my fun was getting dressed up!
Now, I own a lot of summer maxi dresses, BUT I have not found any long sleeve maxis that I loved. Until I saw this beauty at Anthropologie. The Novela maxi dress by Maeve. I saw it in the store last month and resisted trying it on. I didn’t want to spend $150. While I was in the Chicago store off of Michigan Ave. (who has THE best sales area of any Anthros), I saw it. For almost 1/2 off. You bet I snatched that up and headed to the dressing room.
It is so comfortable! So comfy it’s like wearing a nightgown. And I love the ruching underneath the bust. It makes me feel like I have such a tiny waist. And what woman doesn’t want to look like she has a small waist?!
Oh…and pockets! I’m so glad designers started putting pockets in dresses. They are always one of my favorite details!
Last year, I got this beautiful Tiffany & Co. locket for my birthday. One reason I love it…it has my gorgeous babies inside. It’s a way I always have them with me. They have my heart.

I have Spring Break on the brain I guess, based on my post yesterday. One of the main items of clothing I love to take – maxi dresses. Why? They are so versatile! Dress them up. Dress them down. Wear them during the day and at night for dinner. It’s a win win, especially if you have limited room in your suitcase.
These are the latest ones at Anthropologie that I am swooning over right now. Why is it every dress I want is so freakin’ expensive?! Ugh. Me and my stupid expensive taste. I will be watching these bad boys like a hawk for them to go on sale. Or I’ll use a Super Bowl analogy of watching those dresses like Butler watched that ball go right into his hands! (Go Pats!) So here are some of my favorite maxis:
I have been on a maxi kick lately, especially if I can wear them to work! I love the fact I can dress casual to work. I had a long 7.5 years of dressing corporate five days a week. Yuck. Let’s not do that again. My jeans would be mad at me.
My hubby actually picked this dress out. I walked right by it, and he pulled it off the rack and said that I had to try it on. Don’t you love when your guy thinks you would look beautiful in something? Makes me feel so good.
And he was right. This was a beautiful print – look at the minty plus blush plus green plus pops of blue in the butterflies. ❤ And I didn’t have to wear a heel/wedge with it! I’m telling you. At 5’8″ tall, it’s amazing how long some maxis are on me. Love when they hit just right.
And who doesn’t love an Anthro sale?! I know I do! Check out the Maravilla Maxi dress on sale right now.
Dress – Anthropologie Maravilla Maxi; Sandals – Sam Edelman Gigi; Bracelets – Stella & Dot; Watch – Michael Kors; Earrings – a local art show

Ok, I rarely ever buy anything at Anthro full price. I may love to shop, but I am always on the hunt for good deals.
I saw this dress. The Mayacamas Maxi Dress.
The colors. The fabric. The detail on the neckline. The perfect length on me. Yeah, I had to splurge. But it was totally worth it. (And it looks so good when I have my spray tan! Ha!)
It has a slight keyhole in the back and fastens with two small buttons that are covered in the fabric.
It has a mix of gold and platinum colored beading. The purple and pink color you see is actually yarn. It is so pretty in person. And it was perfect for a rehearsal dinner – there, I just justified the purchase 🙂

Sorry for my blogging hiatus. Should I admit the real reason I’ve been slacking on the blog front???
I’ve been sucked in to watching Orange is the New Black! For those who also love OITNB, you know how long it takes to watch these episodes! Everyone at work kept talking about it, so I had to join to club. I hated not knowing what the heck everyone was talking about! Oh how I love this show…and I only have two episodes left to watch!
But…I had to show this you gorgeous Ted Baker London Electric Daydream pleated maxi dress I wore last weekend. This is a dress that just makes you feel pretty. It’s flowy. It’s a gorgeous print. It hides that you’ve eaten too much Italian food!
I had been eyeing this dress at Von Maur. If y’all haven’t shopped at Von Maur, I have no clue what the heck you are waiting for?!?!? Let’s go over the price of the dress. It retailed for $375. Yikes. I saw it on the sales rack when it was $187, which is great for Ted Baker, but still a little steep for me. So I did the waiting game…and went back a week later, and BAM! It was on sale for $93. $93, people!!! This gorgeous dress! Uh, put it on my VM card, pronto.
Dress – Ted Baker Electric Daydream Pleated Maxi Dress (but I got it much cheaper!); Shoes – Charles by Charles David; Earrings and Bracelet – Stella & Dot (both retired); Purse – Louis Vuitton; Watch – Rolex
Since my hair is growing, I could actually put it half up and show off these gorgeous minty Stella & Dot earrings I have had for a while. LOVE being able to do new things with my hair then just having it down!
What’s the best deal you have gotten lately?
I am so glad maxi dresses are so popular. The reason I love them so much – they are easy. Easy to just throw on and go. Easy to pack for vacation. Easy to wash (ok, maybe not the silky dry clean only ones, but…).
I picked up this great maxi at the Impeccable Pig in Buckhead. It didn’t really catch my eye at first, since I tend to gravitate more towards bright colors and not black. But the sales associate picked it up and showed me the back. LOVED it. I love interesting features on clothing.
I took this on vacation and just threw it on, added some jewelry, put on some sandals…and I was out the door. Like I said, easy peasy.
Dress – Impeccable Pig; Sandals – Sam Edelman; Earrings – got them in Cozumel; Bracelet – Lagos; Watch – Rolex; Sunnies – Louis Vuitton
Last weekend, we visited Key West, Florida, for the first time. It’s a beautiful little beach town where you can relax or party hard. You can decide. Me, I chose the relaxing by the beach and pool with the occasional drink in hand and eating the fantastic food.
Now, I have to say I was probably THE most dressed up person on the entire island. But, I really don’t care. I love to dress up, so dress up I did. I didn’t do glitz and glam, but in this super casual place, I felt like I was definitely over dressed. It was fun though, dressing up and also enjoying my spray tan 🙂
If I go back there again, I will definitely pack differently. If I wear dresses at night, I will make sure I can wear flat sandals or flip flops. Cabs aren’t cheap – going just shy of 2 miles was about $12. I know…crazy! One night I did walk back from dinner in 4 inch platforms. Let’s just say by the time I got back to the hotel, my feet were very angry with me.
But…let’s get to the clothes!
Can you believe this is my first ever maxi skirt?! It is so comfortable and perfect to travel in. The weather was windy, cloudy, and a little cooler when we got there. But as soon as the sun came out, the scarf got ditched quickly.
So, it was a little cool with the breeze, so I definitely have a pashmina hidden in that purse. But I bought this dress at Poppy’s in Atlanta at a trunk show. It is an amazing fabric that packed very well. The wrinkles just fell out. If you follow this blog at all, y’all know I love stripes…and this color combination is one of my favs.
The hubs actually bought me this Hale Bob dress at the end of last summer off of Rue La La. So I guess it was a good to wear it on his birthday trip. Truthfully, I didn’t know how much I liked the funky print until I tried it on…and having a tan helps!
Dress – Hale Bob; Bracelet – Stella & Dot; Sandals – Charles by Charles David
We went out to the Westin on Sunset Key one night for dinner at Latitudes. Let’s just say it was the most gorgeous sunset dinner view I have ever seen. AND the food was amazing. I got this dress at the Juicy Couture store in Chicago last summer on super sale. Fun and vibrant for a tropical vacay! And since we love Disney cruises, it was fun seeing the Wonder pull out of the port.
Dress – Juicy Couture; Sandals – Charles by Charles David; Bracelet – Banana Republic
One of my coworkers and friends had been to Key West a couple of months beforehand and recommended going on a sunset cruise on the Hindu. It was so incredibly peaceful – and the sunset was breathtaking. I knew I was going to walk home after, so I opted for flip flops – thank goodness this maxi was short enough that I wasn’t tripping on it!
Dress – The Impeccable Pig; Flip flops – Henri Bendel; Bracelet – Tory Burch
Have you been to Key West? What did you pack to wear? Did you overpack like I did – as all I wore during the day was a swimsuit!
“Patience is a virtue.”
This saying was definitely my mantra when it came to waiting for this Sky “Barbor” maxi dress to go on sale at Von Maur! I first spotted it in April. The color. The braid work. The fabric that doesn’t wrinkle. I. Wanted. It.
BUT. I refused to pay almost $200 for it.
So I waited. And waited. And waited.
Then, three weeks ago I walked into Von Maur and it was on sale. Over half off! Retailing for $198, I paid only $85. And, my friends, I got it hemmed for free, since Von Maur does that complimentary. (Oh how I love you, Von Maur!)
I know I’ve only got to wear it once before the end of the summer, but that’s ok. Maxi dresses will be back next year!
Dress – Sky (not on sale, but it’s here); Bracelets – Stella & Dot
