I picked this up when I went to Old Navy before my vacation. I knew it would be an easy throw on dress for the weekends…and that’s exactly what it is. It’s super stretchy and comfortable. The price is right too. Can you say $13?! Uh, yes please.
I’m typically not the type of girl that would wear Converse, but my husband had a team outing event at Converse’s corporate headquarters in Boston a few weeks ago, and he picked these up for the girl and me to wear (since we wear pretty much the same size). I thought they looked adorable with this dress. Best part – I didn’t even get them dirty!
I don’t own a ton of neutral colors, but I’m not sure why. When I picked up this sweater on super sale at J. McLaughlin, it reminded me how pretty neutral colors can be. And I can’t forget to say how soft this sweater is! Being so neutral is also one reason why I love these Kendra Scott pieces – they go with everything!
One Christmas gift I really wanted this year was these Louis Vuitton sunglasses. I look at sunglasses as an investment. I take VERY good care of my glasses and wear them for multiple years. My last LV’s I got were back in 2013 and they look like brand new! Not only do I love the aviator style, but I loved the wrapped LV canvas around the sides. It’s the subtle details that always capture me. They are also very light to wear. There’s nothing worse than buying sunglasses that hurt your nose after wearing them for only an hour.
These Level 99 jeans were in my very first Stitch Fix, and I’ve loved them ever since! The amount of stretch is perfect, and they wash so well!
Shirt – J. McLaughlin Jamey (these are the new spring colors); Jeans – Level 99; Sunglasses – Louis Vuitton Petite Viola Pilote; Booties – Lucky Brand (similar); Earrings – Kendra Scott; Necklace – Kendra Scott
I was always a little unsure of the vest trend. But when J. Crew Factory has one of their great 40% off the whole store deals, I thought why not? I went with navy, since blue is one of my favorite colors and I knew I had a ton of different options to wear underneath.
I can’t tell you how much I have worn this vest! My other favorite way to wear it is with a plaid shirt underneath. It’s so easy just to throw on some skinnies and boots – and you’re done! Easy outfits are my favorite 🙂
Vest – J. Crew Factory (on sale!); Shirt – The Limited Perfect Tee (similar); Jeans – AG (similar); Boots – Frye Carmen Inside Zip (similar); Earrings – Stella & Dot (retired, but these are similar); Bracelet – Louis Vuitton Save It
It is super hot in the ATL. Not only hot, but humid. Ugh. I love summer, but this weather is starting to get to me. Although I am not a shorts girl, I did pick these up at the Annie Griffin warehouse sale for next to nothing. They are nice and cool in this hot weather – and y’all know I love bright colors!
I love dresses. If you have read by blog at all, you know that is a completely true statement. I prefer wearing dresses and skirts over pants or shorts any day. With the scorching temps in the ATL, dresses are just so much cooler. I’m all about comfort.
I spotted this fun denim dress on the Anthro sales rack. The flash on the camera makes the pattern pop more. In person, the pattern seems a little darker. But it has fantastic stretch – enough that I sized down. Also, this dress would be so easy to put with flat sandals to dress it down a bit.
Has anyone else found it so hard to resist all of these mid-summer sales?!
Taking a vacation to the Caribbean is the perfect time to wear your bright, tropical-colored clothes! This Ted Baker Blisse Chameleon Print Tee just fit in when we stopped in Cozumel. Tropical flowers and adorable chameleons and jewels – oh my! I thought with such a bright shirt might as well turn up the brightness a notch with bright green shorts! Why not?!
Happy Monday, everyone!
This was a great dress to take on vacation. It’s comfortable – and it didn’t wrinkle in my suitcase! The bottom half is jersey material, and I love the asymmetric circle hem. It was perfect was walking around Grand Cayman. And this is the third year I’m wearing these Sam Edelman Gigi sandals. They go with everything! Versatile sandals are perfect for vacations because it means I don’t have to pack other shoe options. More room in my suitcase for other things!
Dress – Anthropologie Sabado by Dolan (other coloring option online); Sandals – Sam Edelman Gigi; Earrings – Kendra Scott; Bracelet – David Yurman; Watch – Rolex; Sunnies – Louis Vuitton (similar); and the ever-fashionable FitBit Flex 🙂

For spring break, we ventured on the high seas on the Disney Magic. This was our fourth Disney cruise, so we knew the drill. But I’m sure you can imagine what I love doing most on the cruise? Dressing up each night for dinner! If y’all haven’t noticed if you have followed by blog, I have an obsession with dresses (say it isn’t so!). Cruises are the perfect opportunity to get gussied up.
I’d thought I would put this post together because my other run down of outfits from the last cruises is my number one post of all time. Crazy! So here we go!
First night was cruise casual. It happened to also be Easter Sunday, so I thought this dress was a little Easter mixed with a little Caribbean.
Dress – Lilly Pulitzer (last season); Shoes – Charles by Charles David (old); Bracelet – Henri Bendel; Watch – Rolex; Purse – Louis Vuitton
The second night was formal night. I was so excited to wear this dress again. I first wore it in January to my work’s annual party. But this time was a whole separate look – no tights, no pumps, no necklace, and hair pulled back. It was so interesting seeing what some people thought “formal night” really was. But to each his/her own when it comes to fashion. But I’m pretty sure cargo khaki shorts and a polo shirt aren’t in the category of formal 🙂 Oh…and if you watched the RHOBH reunion show, this is the dress Kim Richards had on!
Dress – Ted Baker Jineen; Bracelets – Henri Bendel; Shoes – Ash (last season); Earrings – via Stitch Fix
On the girl – Dress by Ruby Rox at Von Maur
The next night was cruise casual again, and I couldn’t wait to wear this new Ted Baker Distinguishing Rose dress. I love everything about this dress, especially the tulip hem. It’s all in the details!
Dress – Ted Baker Distinguishing Rose; Bracelet – C. Wonder; Shoes – Charles by Charles David
I’ve had this beauty since the end of last season. I got it on super sale at the kate spade outlet store. I saw it on a blogger last year and fell in love. But, I wasn’t in love with the price tag. Good things come to those who wait! Snatched it up as I knew it would be perfect for cruising!
Dress – kate spade (last season); Bracelet – Spartina; Shoes – yep! Charles by Charles David again!
We dined in the adult-only restaurant, Palo. If you go on a Disney cruise, you must eat here. YOU MUST. (Or if you are on the Dream or Fantasy, here AND Remy’s!) It’s a little fancier, and I had yet another dress that was begging to be worn in my closet. I love the red and pink combo here!
This next night was actually semi-formal night. Well, this wasn’t what I had planned to wear, but it worked out perfectly. I love a good maxi and this one is no exception. I knew when Anthro came out with this beauty it had to be mine (insert villainous laugh here!).
Dress – Anthropologie SB by Sachin and Babi Marisol Maxi Dress; Bracelet – C. Wonder; Shoes – you guessed it…Charles by Charles David
On the girl – dress from Kohl’s IZ Amy Byer
So this pretty much sums up my evening attire. I’m saving my day outfits for separate posts, so you’ll have to come back and visit – or follow the blog! If you noticed, I wore my nude color Charles by Charles David wedges with about 75% of my dresses. I LOVE THESE SHOES! They are from a couple of season ago and need to be replaced, but I haven’t found the perfect pair yet. The leather is so scuffed at the front of the toe…I must drag my toes when I walk sometimes and not realize it.
Just remember when you are trying to figure out what to pack for a cruise: it’s really wear what you want to wear. Although in Palo or Remy, they are pretty strict (I believe guys need a jacket and women a dress, skirt or suit). It’s all about having fun! And my fun was getting dressed up!
Truthfully, my favorite weekend is when I don’t have to get ready and put make-up on or do my hair. All weekend. Like none of it. And showering at 3 in the afternoon. Relaxation (even though I workout hard on the weekends)…I love you so.
But yesterday, I wanted to head over and hit a few shops at the Avalon. It’s such a great place over there – and there is such a good mix of shops. (And I’m looking forward to Exhale to open so I can try out the classes!) So what does that mean? I actually had to shower and put on real clothes. 🙂
So I went for total comfort. I love that the lululemon Wunder Under leggings are easy to dress up. The only caveat is I want to make sure I wear a cardigan/sweater/shirt that is long enough to cover the booty. These cotton leggings are so comfortable; I love the way they feel.
I paired the leggings with this ridiculously comfy cardigan that I got about five years ago at The Loft. I hadn’t worn this retired Stella & Dot necklace in a while, which is gold, cream, and green, so I put a hunter green J. Crew Perfect Tee underneath. Again, I’ve had this t-shirt foreva! It washes so well.
So my comfy look was complete! Are you like me? Do you like to be comfy on the weekends?
Cardigan – The Loft (old but similar here); T-shirt – J. Crew (old but new colors here); Leggings – lululemon; Belt – Calvin Klein (old); Booties – Dolce Vita (old); Necklace – Stella & Dot (retired); Sunglasses – Louis Vuitton (similar here)
Last weekend, we visited Key West, Florida, for the first time. It’s a beautiful little beach town where you can relax or party hard. You can decide. Me, I chose the relaxing by the beach and pool with the occasional drink in hand and eating the fantastic food.
Now, I have to say I was probably THE most dressed up person on the entire island. But, I really don’t care. I love to dress up, so dress up I did. I didn’t do glitz and glam, but in this super casual place, I felt like I was definitely over dressed. It was fun though, dressing up and also enjoying my spray tan 🙂
If I go back there again, I will definitely pack differently. If I wear dresses at night, I will make sure I can wear flat sandals or flip flops. Cabs aren’t cheap – going just shy of 2 miles was about $12. I know…crazy! One night I did walk back from dinner in 4 inch platforms. Let’s just say by the time I got back to the hotel, my feet were very angry with me.
But…let’s get to the clothes!
Can you believe this is my first ever maxi skirt?! It is so comfortable and perfect to travel in. The weather was windy, cloudy, and a little cooler when we got there. But as soon as the sun came out, the scarf got ditched quickly.
So, it was a little cool with the breeze, so I definitely have a pashmina hidden in that purse. But I bought this dress at Poppy’s in Atlanta at a trunk show. It is an amazing fabric that packed very well. The wrinkles just fell out. If you follow this blog at all, y’all know I love stripes…and this color combination is one of my favs.
The hubs actually bought me this Hale Bob dress at the end of last summer off of Rue La La. So I guess it was a good to wear it on his birthday trip. Truthfully, I didn’t know how much I liked the funky print until I tried it on…and having a tan helps!
Dress – Hale Bob; Bracelet – Stella & Dot; Sandals – Charles by Charles David
We went out to the Westin on Sunset Key one night for dinner at Latitudes. Let’s just say it was the most gorgeous sunset dinner view I have ever seen. AND the food was amazing. I got this dress at the Juicy Couture store in Chicago last summer on super sale. Fun and vibrant for a tropical vacay! And since we love Disney cruises, it was fun seeing the Wonder pull out of the port.
Dress – Juicy Couture; Sandals – Charles by Charles David; Bracelet – Banana Republic
One of my coworkers and friends had been to Key West a couple of months beforehand and recommended going on a sunset cruise on the Hindu. It was so incredibly peaceful – and the sunset was breathtaking. I knew I was going to walk home after, so I opted for flip flops – thank goodness this maxi was short enough that I wasn’t tripping on it!
Dress – The Impeccable Pig; Flip flops – Henri Bendel; Bracelet – Tory Burch
Have you been to Key West? What did you pack to wear? Did you overpack like I did – as all I wore during the day was a swimsuit!
