Little Black Dress Inspiration with Dailylook

The Little Black Dress. LBD. Do you have one? Or two or three or ten? Black is that universally flattering color for everyone. And who wouldn’t want to wear a color that flatters your figure? It’s a no brainer.

If you have followed me at all, you know I absolutely love color. So, I will admit, I do not bust out my LBDs very much. BUT…I have three great ones in my closet. One that is work appropriate with cap sleeves, a fun peplum with criss crossed back, and a body con with a little mesh at the top. If you do not own any black dresses and are a working girl like me, I suggest going with something that you could wear for work functions with maybe a sleeve and a length that works for your office culture.

On the other hand, if you want something a little more fun, I suggest going to the Dailylook to see their great LBD options. They have it all (yes, a few office appropriate, too)! I was recently inspired to put together a look.

The Little Black Dress

I have curves (cue All About That Bass…all the right curves in all the right places!), and sometimes, yes, I want to show them off. That’s why in this set I chose a great pencil dress with a slightly lower neckline. I tend to love to pair black with leopard. Leopard is a staple in my wardrobe – and if you are afraid of it, get over your fear! It’s the best! What else do I love? A great red lip. Lipstick Queen has the best lipsticks; it has quickly become my favorite brand of lipstick that actually lasts.

Dailylook not only has great options for LBDs, but basically everything. There is inspiration everywhere on their site. Don’t forget to pin your favorite looks and use them later when you are in fashion slump…and are doing the dreaded “I have nothing to wear” when you are staring at a closet full of clothes. (Guilty as charged!)

Another great feature – Shop By Body Type. When you are shopping online, don’t you always wonder how that would look on you? With this feature, hopefully it will help you understand the cuts of some of the clothes and whether or not they would work for you.

So happy LBD shopping to you!!

Dailylook inspired this post and all opinions are my own.

Statement Necklace, Skinnies, and Animal Print – Oh My!

To me, this was an easy outfit. Do you ever have one of those mornings when you are feeling rushed and just need to hurry up and get the heck out the door? In the ATL, I have about a 10-minute window that if I don’t hit it, I’m stuck in traffic. As in taking me an hour to get to work 😦

So…this outfit came together super easy on my rushed morning. Love a good silk button up. Love a good statement necklace. Love a good pair of skinnies. Love leopard print. Add them all up and voila! Here’s what you got!

My team member at work came to work one day and said “Emily, you have go to get these!” She understands my love for fashion. So for $20 (on sale!) at Old Navy, I couldn’t resist. I love trying new skinnies. And these are pull-on…circa my maternity pant wearing days! I am prone to buying dark wash too because they just make jeans seem a little dressier – at least in my mind. I’ve worn them a few times now, and I highly recommend them. They keep their shape all day and do not stretch out or appear baggy after a few hours. And for under $30, you can’t beat it!

Now, I love wearing high heels, but I’ve been on the hunt for some leopard print flats. Or kitten heels would do, too. And I finally found a pair! Where you ask? In my favorite store’s shoe sale room – Von Maur!! I’ve never own a pair of Isaac Mizrahi New York shoes before, and I am now a big fan. Super comfortable! And they are made so well.
