Vacation to the beach = wearing Lilly Pulitzer! I picked up this adorable Kassia dress on sale when I was in Charleston this summer. I just love all of the bright colors. You definitely wouldn’t lose me if I was in the dark. You also can’t be afraid of color to wear this Playa Hermosa print 🙂 It’s super light weight and perfect for humid and hot weather. If you couldn’t tell, this was also at the beginning of our Hilton Head vacation when my spray tan looked fab! I always love how I leave for vacation tanner than when I come home. Beauty of a fake tan!
Dress – Lilly Pulitzer Kassia Playa Hermosa; Wedges – Schutz (last year, but similar as an espadrille); Earrings – Kendra Scott Danielle; Bracelets – Henri Bendel (last year); Tory Burch Fitbit Flex holder
Typically this type of blouse is not something I would pick up, but I loved the beautiful print. And I think the fluted sleeves are so much fun. There are so many colors that would go with this top. I have had this great J. Crew No. 2 pencil skirt forever, but I tried a light purple on with it too and it looked pretty. The Banana Republic website has a white skirt with it, but if you’ve followed me at all, y’all know I much rather prefer color over neutrals. This top is on sale right now, so don’t miss out on a great deal!
When I saw this jumpsuit on the hanger, I first thought it was a maxi dress. As I was feeling the fabric and pulling it apart, I discovered it was definitely not a maxi! I usually don’t gravitate towards jumpsuits, but I loved this print!
When I tried this on, it felt like I was in the most comfortable pajamas. I knew I wanted to take this to Charleston, so I did.
It was hot that day, and this was the perfect outfit to keep me cool while we walked around town. I know some of you fashionistas might be thinking, “why does she have flip flops on with that?!” It’s called comfort. Sometimes comfort goes over fashion when you know you will be walking a ton.
And it was bright and colorful to match Rainbow Row 🙂 The purple house was our favorite, and when I went on Realtor.com after I got home, it’s on sale for a cool $2.8 million. A tip if you plan on getting great shots of Rainbow Row in Charleston, don’t be disappointed that you will NOT get a great shot of all of them at once. There are a ton of trees – and cars – that sit in front of all of them. Maybe unless you have a drone can you get the perfect shot. 🙂
I was on the hunt for a great cross body bag that I could wear on vacation that was big enough for what I needed, but light enough that it wouldn’t hurt my shoulder. I found it! This Henri Bendel Jetsetter Convertible Messenger is perfect! It holds my large wallet, sunglasses, phone (actually two phones because I held my daughter’s too), and more. It has the zipper pockets in the front and a large pocket on the back that’s easy to slip your phone in and out of so you can keep the main part zipped and safe.
As you can probably tell from some of my posts lately, I scored big time when Lilly had their end of season clearance sale last fall. This Sophie UPF 50+ shift dress was one of those scores! I’m usually not a huge fan of shift dresses, but this one is so soft and comfortable…and I think it looks good…that I wanted to add it to my closet. Has the cutest little buttons up the three-quarter sleeves. Also love the fact you can dress it up or down. I wore this to work, so I paired it with some fun wedges, but I wore this the other day and I put it with my Jack Rogers Lauren sandals.
They have this dress in a ton of fun prints this season! Here it is in a navy blue pattern, white and a lighter ocean blue, mostly pink with greens and some blue, pink and blue with a pop of orange, and plain blue.
You’ve seen these Schutz Juliana cage wedges numerous times, and I don’t understand why they don’t make these anymore – or I just can’t find them online. Here they are as a heel. They just go so well with everything, and I didn’t know how much I loved having a white sandal!
And who doesn’t love Kendra Scott earrings?! Oh the gorgeous colors! I love these Danielle earrings!
Happy Monday, everyone!
Over spring break this year, we went on our fifth Disney Cruise. Yes, fifth. Yes, we love them. Obviously. 🙂 We went on the Fantasy again and sailed to the Western Caribbean making stops at Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Jamaica, and Castaway Cay (Disney’s private island). The Fantasy and Dream are sister ships that set sail a few years ago. They are bigger than the Magic and Wonder and are just wonderful. My favorite part – the adult restaurant, Remy. I’ve been fortunate to eat at fantastic places in my life, and Remy is the #1 restaurant I’ve ever eaten at. This was also the Star Wars Day at Sea cruise, and this Star Wars family loved every minute of it!
But, this isn’t a travel blog…it’s a fashion blog. Another reason I love cruises is getting to dress up for dinner. Do you have to? No. But, it’s me. C’mon, do you think I’d really NOT dress up for dinner?! 🙂 Here’s what I wore this year.
I love Lilly Pulitzer, and this Sloane maxi (some other fun patterns here) was perfect for getting on the ship. So comfortable! Even though I’m just shy of 5’8″, I did have to get it hemmed a little so I didn’t have to wear wedges with it.
I got this on super sale last year. I knew that the cruise would be the perfect place to wear it – and I was right. (Here’s a similar style this year.) And these Schutz cage wedges I got last year in NYC have continued to be a favorite. Here’s a different version.
This Ted Baker dress I picked up two years ago for $90. This was the perfect dress for formal night! And these Michael Antonio silver shoes I got off Amazon for $23! I didn’t want to spend a fortune on silver shoes I know I wouldn’t wear very much at all! Amazon has everything 🙂 The girl is wearing a Lilly Pulitzer dress I wore on a cruise four years ago. My baby is growing up 😦
This night, we ate in Remy. When you eat in Remy, you are expected to dress appropriately. So yay for me to get to dress up again! This Halston Heritage dress had been sitting in my closet (another huge sale item) and was waiting for me to wear it. And I’ve had these DVF shoes forever…who doesn’t love a good leopard print?!
I posted about this great dress a few weeks ago. It’s on sale!
Most days were spent in a swimsuit, but this day we went out to walk around the Falmouth, Jamaica port. I got this $19 Lilly Pulitzer Rilo tube top last year. So glad I did since they didn’t come out with this style this year. The shorts were an Old Navy special! And you’ve seen these Kendra Scott pink Danielle earrings a few times this trip…they went with this top perfectly! Jack Rogers Lauren sandals are still a fav from last year.
When I saw this dress on Instagram, and it was on sale, I immediately sent the link to my hubby for Christmas. I was so happy he got it for me! This Parker dress is one of my favorites now! So simple but so beautiful. It also goes perfect with my Louboutin nude heels.
My hubby got me this Ted Baker dress last year for Mother’s Day, and I knew I wanted to wear it again on the cruise. If you are a RHOATL fan, you will recognize that Porscha wore this dress in her interviews, but I think I wore it better. LOL
I posted the Lilly Pulitzer Clara dress last year…and then I picked up this one on super sale. I just love how flowy these dresses are. Means you can eat a lot and not even notice! 🙂 Here are a few great patterns left from last year here and here. (This runs so big, you want to size down.) Oh and look, again with the Kendra Scott earrings and Schutz wedges!
If you have any Disney cruise questions, feel free to leave a comment with questions!
Y’all know I’m not a huge fan of wearing shorts. But I got these beauties during Lilly’s major sale last fall, and I was excited to bust them out last weekend. Our weather has been great in the ATL – feels like early summer! So I thought I would dress like it. I love this great Lilly t-shirt I picked up during the sale as well. I have a feeling both of these pieces are going to get a lot of use this spring and summer. I’ve never been shy to wear prints or color. I’m loving Lilly Pulitzer more and more!
And I got my hair cut last weekend too. I am loving it super short again! There’s nothing better than a fresh cut either…and when my hair girl styles it 🙂
I don’t own a ton of neutral colors, but I’m not sure why. When I picked up this sweater on super sale at J. McLaughlin, it reminded me how pretty neutral colors can be. And I can’t forget to say how soft this sweater is! Being so neutral is also one reason why I love these Kendra Scott pieces – they go with everything!
One Christmas gift I really wanted this year was these Louis Vuitton sunglasses. I look at sunglasses as an investment. I take VERY good care of my glasses and wear them for multiple years. My last LV’s I got were back in 2013 and they look like brand new! Not only do I love the aviator style, but I loved the wrapped LV canvas around the sides. It’s the subtle details that always capture me. They are also very light to wear. There’s nothing worse than buying sunglasses that hurt your nose after wearing them for only an hour.
These Level 99 jeans were in my very first Stitch Fix, and I’ve loved them ever since! The amount of stretch is perfect, and they wash so well!
Shirt – J. McLaughlin Jamey (these are the new spring colors); Jeans – Level 99; Sunglasses – Louis Vuitton Petite Viola Pilote; Booties – Lucky Brand (similar); Earrings – Kendra Scott; Necklace – Kendra Scott
Maxi dresses have definitely become a staple in my wardrobe. Nothing is easier to me in the mornings when I need a quick go-to outfit. This maxi from The Limited is full of beautiful colors, has pockets, and is so comfortable! I just happened to have this perfect goldish belt in my closet for a pop of color. Easy peasy outfit! This dress is on super sale too…grab it while you can (but size down)!
If you’ve ever read my blog before, you know it’s hard for me to resist Ted Baker London. Especially when it’s on super sale. Let me present Exhibit A. This absolutely adorable cherry dress I got at Von Maur for…wait for it…wait for it…$139! Originally $279. (Again, I’ve professed my love for Von Maur over and over again on this blog, too!)
I’ll admit I stalked this dress. I knew from the moment I spotted it that I would love it. The adorable pattern, the bows, the high waist, the pleats in the back, uh yeah. It is a winner in my book. The fabric has such a wonderful feel and of course the skirt part has a navy lining underneath. This was totally worth it…as all of the Ted’s I own are 🙂 I can’t even tell you how many of his dresses I am eyeing now; I think I have about six or seven on my wish list. Did I mention my birthday is coming up?? (insert big cheesy grin here)
Longer blouses make me happy. I love when I can wear tight jeggings and not worry about my booty being too out there at work. I love the length of this Banana Republic striped boyfriend blouse. The only downside to this light colored blouse is how sheer it is; definitely had to wear a cami underneath. But I paired it with these Old Navy jeggings from last year. Yep, they totally remind me of maternity pants though…great elastic waist. Ha! I know Kendra Scott is super hot right now, but I am so glad I jumped on the Rayne necklace bandwagon. I wear this bad boy ALL the time. It was such a great purchase – highly recommend.
I stalked this dress after I saw a blogger wear it on Instagram. I’m not afraid of prints or bright colors; I gravitate towards them. As a communicator and creative person, color makes me happy and helps me express my personality. When I wore this to work, we had prospective clients in for a tour. As they walked into my area, the response I got was “Well, that’s an awfully bright dress.” My response? “I will totally take that as a compliment.” 🙂 And he quickly said it absolutely was. But it’s fashion…I dress for myself and no one else.
This dress is gorgeous. Plain and simple. Did I mention it’s on super sale?! If you have added any kate spade dresses to your closet, you know how well made they are. This dress is no exception. I won’t divulge how many dresses I’m stalking from this upcoming fall collection…
Are y’all tired of seeing my Annie Griffin finds at the warehouse sale?! Well, good thing this is my last one 🙂 Like the Lindsay dress I talked about last week, I got this gorgeous print dress for $82. Not only is the print beautiful and colorful, it’s comfortable! Has a nice elastic around the waist in case for over eating at dinner. I’m a sucka for interesting backs, too. This one fits the bill. For this hot and humid night in Hilton Head, it kept me somewhat cool – if that was possible.
The girl was also excited she could fit into a couple of dresses at Francesca’s. I remember when I could finally shop in the junior’s section, I thought that was just awesome. I just wish she would stop growing so fast!!
It is super hot in the ATL. Not only hot, but humid. Ugh. I love summer, but this weather is starting to get to me. Although I am not a shorts girl, I did pick these up at the Annie Griffin warehouse sale for next to nothing. They are nice and cool in this hot weather – and y’all know I love bright colors!
I love to play with mixing prints, but I’ve never mixed my stripes. Until now. Stripes mixed. I was going to go with the same solid color t-shirt until I stopped myself and told myself to try something new! So here’s the result! With the blue and red, I guess I was still feeling patriotic after Memorial Day. 🙂
Top – Joie via Haute Look; Skirt – BCBGMaxAzria (old); Cami – The Limited; Shoes – Kohl’s (old); Necklace – Kendra Scott; Earrings – Kendra Scott; Watch – Michael Kors; Bracelet – hand-me-down from my momma
Taking a vacation to the Caribbean is the perfect time to wear your bright, tropical-colored clothes! This Ted Baker Blisse Chameleon Print Tee just fit in when we stopped in Cozumel. Tropical flowers and adorable chameleons and jewels – oh my! I thought with such a bright shirt might as well turn up the brightness a notch with bright green shorts! Why not?!
Happy Monday, everyone!
Sometimes a beautiful shirt just makes me happy. Yep. This one included. I scored this beauty at Annie Griffin’s warehouse sale in Atlanta. I just fell in love with the colors. I’ve added quite a few silk blouses to my closet. They are just easy outfits – just pair it with skinnies and some great jewelry…and walk out the door! Easy peasy.
And yes, I’ve jumped on the Kendra Scott Rayne bandwagon. But this necklace goes with so much! Versatile jewelry is the best kind of jewelry.
Shirt – Annie Griffin (similar, but a lot more than I paid!); Jeans – AG Absolute Legging; Shoes – Isaac Mizrahi (no longer available); Necklace – Kendra Scott; Earrings – Kendra Scott; Bracelet – Henri Bendel; Sunnies – kate spade
Wrap dresses are great for so many body types. I have had quite a few in my wardrobe over the years. They are just a great go-to dress. This is another dress I got on my latest Stitch Fix. My stylist, Emily, knocked this one out of the park. I saw the pattern first before I even knew it was a wrap dress, and I knew I would love it. Blue is one of my favorite colors, so that already had it going for it 🙂
On a side note, I can’t say enough good things about the Henri Bendel Carlyle Satchel. This is the second Carlyle bag I have, and this leather is just so soft. And if you are like me and carry everything and the kitchen sink, this bag is for you. I’ve noticed they put it out in various colors every season, so if you don’t see a color you like now, check back! (Oh, and they do put them on sale…I got both of my bags half off!)
Happy Monday, everyone!
This dress’s print just makes me happy. Who doesn’t love roses?! And who isn’t excited that I can wear this sleeveless dress outside?! With no coat on. In April. This is why I heart living in the south. Here’s to putting away the coats until next November!
It’s been so dreary and gray in the ATL lately. So, I busted out some pastels to lighten my mood! My uniform lately has been layering a button up with a sweater.
I thought why not add a little sparkle to my uni?! This Stella & Dot Somervell necklace is exactly what this outfit needed. But that wasn’t enough. I need more sparkle (said in my best Christopher Walken voice)!
So I added some beautiful mint drop earrings my momma got me and a Kendra Scott bracelet. I love mint. I’m so happy this color became popular a few years ago and has stayed.
And yes, I added another Tippi sweater to my collection. When they are on sale plus an additional 40% off, it’s hard to resist!
Sweater – J. Crew Tippi; Shirt – Old Navy (old); Jeans – AG Angel Bootcut; Booties – Ash (old); Necklace – Stella & Dot Somervell; Bracelets – Kendra Scott Raegan and Henri Bendel; Earrings – gift, but similar here; Watch – Rolex; Ring – Lagos
I have an obsession with Ted. Ted Baker that is. Not the stuffed bear with the wicked Boston accent 🙂 I find his dresses to be so feminine and playful. And this dress is no exception.
I had my eye on it for a long time at Von Maur. And I watched. And I watched some more … until it was on its second mark down. SCORE! Gotta love the sales at Von Maur! I love the Peter Pan collar in the front and the back, and not to mention this great print. My kids were spinning me around trying to find all of the birds on it. It’s such a wonderful mix of color. Ted does it again.
My mom picked up these gorgeous little mint earrings for me for Christmas. I love that my hair is slightly long enough to pull back so I can start to show off my earrings! I also picked up this new Raegan cuff from Kendra Scott. Mint is one of my favorite colors, so I know this bracelet will be on heavy rotation, especially since it’s small and a good size for layering.
Dress – Ted Baker Eponi Pretty Trees; Tights – The Limited (old); Booties – Vince Camuto (old); Earrings – ?? Christmas present; Mint Cuff – Kendra Scott Raegan; Gold Cuff – Henri Bendel; Watch – Rolex
Linking up with The Pleated Poppy.
