I’ve been a fan of mixing prints when I can! This outfit was easy to put together. Pattern mixing is easy when you keep in the same color family…so I stuck with my favorite color of blue.
And I can’t tell you enough great things about these JMcLaughlin Madera striped pants! They are like comfortable leggings but with a side zipper. These pants are on sale for under $60! In the hotter temperatures, I don’t love wearing pants, but these are so comfortable and cute I made the exception. (And have I mentioned my office is like working in a meat locker sometimes!)
Shirt – J. Crew (old); Pants – JMcLaughlin; Shoes – Louie Et Cie (old); Necklace – Spartina; Bracelet – Louis Vuitton; Watch – Rolex
It’s been so dreary and gray in the ATL lately. So, I busted out some pastels to lighten my mood! My uniform lately has been layering a button up with a sweater.
I thought why not add a little sparkle to my uni?! This Stella & Dot Somervell necklace is exactly what this outfit needed. But that wasn’t enough. I need more sparkle (said in my best Christopher Walken voice)!
So I added some beautiful mint drop earrings my momma got me and a Kendra Scott bracelet. I love mint. I’m so happy this color became popular a few years ago and has stayed.
And yes, I added another Tippi sweater to my collection. When they are on sale plus an additional 40% off, it’s hard to resist!
Sweater – J. Crew Tippi; Shirt – Old Navy (old); Jeans – AG Angel Bootcut; Booties – Ash (old); Necklace – Stella & Dot Somervell; Bracelets – Kendra Scott Raegan and Henri Bendel; Earrings – gift, but similar here; Watch – Rolex; Ring – Lagos
When I first put this outfit together, I thought “Is this me?” “Is this too trendy?” But, one of the things I always try to do…step outside of my comfort zone.
With maxi skirts in the summer, I never paired them with a flowy shirt. Why? I have no idea. But I have a couple of coworkers I gathered inspiration from, and the result was this outfit.
Another plus – it was so comfortable! 🙂
The last two years, I’ve been obsessed with button ups. I remember a time where I think I owned one white button up shirt and that was it. I’m ashamed to admit how many button ups I have now! There are such versatile shirts – dress them up or down, layer them, wear them untucked, tucked in. Endless possibilities. And how can you not love a cute heart print? (And it’s on clearance at J. Crew Factory!)
And these booties I got at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this summer have been worn a ton already! They were a great investment and being Coach, I know they are going to last forevaaaaaaa!
Now, I know it’s the middle of September, but I’m still holding on to wearing my wedges. When it’s above 80 degrees, I think that is perfectly fine. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. I wore these red wedges twice last week. I love them! I got them off of Rue La La in the spring, and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve worn them.
I had been waiting for this dress to go on sale at J. Crew. So when I saw it was on sale PLUS another 30% off, I kind of did a small happy dance in the sale section. Shhhhh. Don’t tell anyone. I couldn’t tell if it was navy or black. But after doing the holding-it-up-to-another-black-item, my scientific experiment concluded that it was indeed black. I’ve always loved black and red together. So here’s my combo…
Then a few days later, I thought I would yet again wear red. This skirt from Banana is ridiculously comfortable. I’ve been into mixing patterns, so I thought adding the polka dot chambray with the stripes would be a good combo. And I thought a little tying of the blouse was something a little different for me. See what you think…

There’s nothing better than having a go-to dress to just throw on. Whether it be because you’re in a hurry to get out the door or you just don’t want to have to think about what to wear. That’s what’s perfect about this dress…it’s just so easy to throw on and go! (Except for work…it’s a little vertically challenged for the workplace.) And it has two of my favorite things – stripes and zipper detail!
I love having these easy pieces in my wardrobe. One of the many things I love about summer. Summer dresses! Do you have any go-to dresses or outfits in the summer?
I love yellow. I love stripes. Put the two together, and I’m in a little bit of fashion heaven. So much so that I own two yellow stripe shirts. (Don’t hate!) I’ve worn the t-shirt so many different ways. It was the best $10 I’ve spent at Old Navy. The 1/2 sleeve shirt I just picked up on sale at Banana Republic. I love how the stripes pattern changes. (And I’ll mention I love this shirt so much I bought it in two more colors online the other day. Hehehe.)
But here’s how I styled yellow stripes two different ways. One super casual and the other I wore to work. Can you tell how much I love color?!
