I can’t even remember the last time I wore a turtleneck. Maybe 2004? If you’ve never worn Lou & Grey before, you’re missing out. Not only is it super affordable, the fabrics are always super soft. Same goes for this turtleneck…which is why I thought I would give it a try. I’ve seen so many people wearing them tucked in, so why the heck not?! I paired it with these Democracy jeans, which I received in one of my latest Stitch Fixes. They are so stretchy and the perfect length for me where I didn’t even have to hem them.
Oh, and The Loft typically will carry some Lou & Grey pieces that are included in their 40% off sales they have ALL the time. I’ve scored so many pieces at ridiculously good deals.
And I’ve never been afraid of a bright lip. Like ever. If you want a matte lipstick that stays on FOREVER, pick up Dose of Colors Matte Liquid Lipstick. I’m not joking. This will stay on ALL day and you’ll even have remnants the next morning. It goes on like a gloss, but then dries matte in probably 30 seconds. Highly recommend!
Turtleneck – Lou & Grey (at their site or Nordstrom); Jeans – Democracy “Ab”Solution Itty Bitty Boot; Lipstick – Dose of Colors Matte Liquid Lipstick in Fiery Red; Earrings – silver shop in Cozumel; Booties – old Frye; Belt – old C Wonder
This adorable shirt is on sale for $29.99! It’s such a pretty light purple in person…didn’t quite photograph as I would have liked. The laser cuts are such a cute detail, and I love the button close in the back. And it pairs great with these Banana Republic white skinny ankle jeans – which are on sale for $68!
And let’s not forget my new favorite Henri Bendel bracelets. I wrote about the amazing sale this weekend. Pick these up before they are gone!
Shirt – Banana Republic Laser Cut Crepe Tank; Jeans – Banana Republic Skinny Ankle; Bracelets – Cote D’Azure Charm Cuff $27.20, Petite Enamel Hinged Cuff $31.20; Necklace – Henri Bendel Petal Station Long Necklace $47.20 (sold out in white but still in other colors); Shoes – Frye (old – but similar here)
I was always a little unsure of the vest trend. But when J. Crew Factory has one of their great 40% off the whole store deals, I thought why not? I went with navy, since blue is one of my favorite colors and I knew I had a ton of different options to wear underneath.
I can’t tell you how much I have worn this vest! My other favorite way to wear it is with a plaid shirt underneath. It’s so easy just to throw on some skinnies and boots – and you’re done! Easy outfits are my favorite 🙂
Vest – J. Crew Factory (on sale!); Shirt – The Limited Perfect Tee (similar); Jeans – AG (similar); Boots – Frye Carmen Inside Zip (similar); Earrings – Stella & Dot (retired, but these are similar); Bracelet – Louis Vuitton Save It
Last year for Christmas, I got the longer version of this amazing coat in taupe. This year, there was a fantastic Black Friday deal on this Ted Baker Paria short wrap coat. I fell in love with the color…so I asked if it could please be wrapped for me under the tree. (Oh, you know you have all done that before!)
I think the official color name is interesting – Pale Purple. This coat is anything but pale. It’s so bright and so beautiful. And as Ted always does, he puts in a gorgeous lining. One important thing to note is how the buttons are buttoned. They are covered, so you have to finagle the button on the inside of the coat. The finagling is worth it though! It gives it such a polished look.
I also love the option of the collar. You can fold it over or pull it up for those windy and cold days. It has a button on the inside and then another one on the outside to make sure it stays secure.
It’s definitely warm, too. I think it cuts the wind out really well. So if you are looking for a new coat at a great price, definitely give this one a try!
The weather has been so warm lately, so I was happy to be able to get out a sweater and boots after a 75 degree Christmas! But of course now I’m freezing in 40 degrees. Gotta complain about something, right…ha!
I got this sweater in my Stitch Fix a couple of months ago. My stylist nailed this one! I said I wanted a comfy sweater that was long enough to cover the booty. As soon as I opened the box, I knew I would love it. It is actually a little on the thinner side, so I had to add a long sleeve t-shirt underneath to stay warm. But did you see the little pockets, too? Love.
I have so many workout leggings that I have started wearing them with my day outfits. Why the heck not? They are usually thicker than the typical leggings I find anyway. These lululemon Ebb to Street pants worked perfectly with this outfit!
I continued by addiction to Frye by getting these Vera boots. I already have them in another color…love this style. These are a little stiffer than the other leather that I have, but I know they will be good after a few wears.
Santa was good to me and got me these Lagos earrings and pearl David Yurman bracelet. I tend to like more traditional pieces that can be versatile. These both are going to be in heavy rotation…especially the bracelet that can be layered with so much.
It’s not too often that you see me in black or gray…I’m just a girl who loves color. But sometimes you get the cutest sweater in your stitch fix box that you can’t help but fall in love! My favorite part of this sweater? The gray patches on the elbows. Cute details make me happy…it’s the little things, people 🙂
If you’ve read my blog on and off, you know I’m a huge Frye fan. These Paige riding boots are going strong on their third year. They just fit like a glove and are so well made. I know the price of Fryes can be a turn off for some, but the quality and craftsmanship of these boots are in a league of their own. I couldn’t recommend these boots more! And they come in a ton of colors!
Fall weather is an enigma to me. One day it’s 75, the next it’s 50. So if I’m wearing sweaters in this weird transition, I try to make sure they are somewhat thin where I won’t break into a nasty sweat the second I step outside in the afternoon.
This sweater is now one of my favorites. I won’t lie. I have this in two colors. It’s nice and thin, and I love how it’s long in the back…you could easily get away with wearing legging with this and it would easily cover your assets. 🙂 And did I mention it’s on sale? And I’m sure Banana will have a wicked good sale for Black Friday, so it will be even cheaper!
I have to admit I’m not a huge fan of the sweatshirt trend…until I found this great jacquard sweatshirt at Gap. I love how it’s “fancy” enough to wear to work (thank you casual workplace!). The details of the exposed zipper on the back was a sealed deal. It is so comfortable, too! I was slightly worried about getting the white dirty, but thankfully I didn’t have any spills 🙂
This is on sale right now, too! Gap always has various offers, so you can definitely pick this up for a huge bargain. You’re welcome.
I love dresses. If you have read by blog at all, you know that is a completely true statement. I prefer wearing dresses and skirts over pants or shorts any day. With the scorching temps in the ATL, dresses are just so much cooler. I’m all about comfort.
I spotted this fun denim dress on the Anthro sales rack. The flash on the camera makes the pattern pop more. In person, the pattern seems a little darker. But it has fantastic stretch – enough that I sized down. Also, this dress would be so easy to put with flat sandals to dress it down a bit.
Has anyone else found it so hard to resist all of these mid-summer sales?!
Have I told you how much I hate ironing? Well. I do. Like I do everything imaginable not to iron. So when I purchase a top, the iron/not-to-iron factor always weighs in on my decision. But when I stumbled upon this blouse, I fell in love with the lace detail, and my ironing factor went straight out the window. (And did I mention I got this on super sale?!)
I love the cream color, and the silk is ridiculously soft. The stretchy cotton sleeves were an added bonus … I hate when silk sleeves get those horrible elbow wrinkles. I’m not a huge lace person, but this detail was so feminine and the little keyhole back was a sweet touch.
Pair it with some great jeans – and voila! Easy outfit for work 🙂 You’ve got to love that!

Once I typed in that title, immediately in my head I cheered “Blue and gold, hey, beat those Dawgs.” Quick high school cheerleading moment there.
I recently had a Kendra Scott store open close to me, and I see so many bloggers that love her jewelry. So I had to stop in and check it out. It was wonderful! What beautiful designs and so many fantastic colors!
I picked up this Jackie Tie Necklace in gold and started playing with all of the different ways to wear it…with the help of the associate.
So it just had to come home with me. I have to say it a nice weight and I love the beautiful gold shine. The silver one was beautiful too, but I was looking for gold.
Let’s stop and talk a second about this blue cashmere sweater. I’ve never owned cashmere before because, well, the price points always turned me away. But…in walks a 75% off sale at C. Wonder, and I picked this beauty up at a whopping $35. Nope. That’s not a typo. $35. This cobalt blue is my favorite color, and I can see myself wearing this sweater for many years.

In the South, there are a days of the winter where tights are not needed. Yay! So on a mild day, I decided to wear a dress and ditch the tights and just go with boot socks. And I wasn’t even chilly – don’t hate friends back in the Midwest!
This dress caught my eye a few months ago, but I didn’t want to pay full price. So I waited patiently. It was hard because I saw one of my favorite bloggers wear it, and I wanted to run to my nearest Anthro to pick it up. But, I resisted. Patience is a virtue…and pays off. Not only was it on sale, it was also another 25% off (click here).
Y’all know I have a slight obsession with Frye. I got these Carmen Inside Zip boots on sale, and they are quickly becoming my favorites. I love that they have a slight heel. For those of you with normal sized calves like me, they fit great, even with skinny jeans. I don’t buy boots with less than a 15″ shaft circumference.
I also love having little arm parties. My parents gave me this gorgeous Hermes bracelet for Christmas. Before you even say a word, yes, I know my parents have spoiled me and I’m blessed I get to call them MY parents! I used to have my friends ask me “Don’t your parents need one more daughter?!” Nope. They are all mine. Oh wait, is that the only child spoiled brat coming out? 🙂

So…do you ever pick out your Christmas presents? While you are at the store? And watch it get put in a box? I rarely do that, but I definitely did with this adorable Wells jacket from J. McLaughlin. I had been on the hunt for a leather jacket, and when I saw it on sale in the store the middle of November, I had to tell the hubs to put it under the tree for me. I didn’t want it to be gone! Which is a good thing because now it’s gone on the website!
It is such a great quality jacket. I heart it so much. Nothing better than super soft buttery leather (wow that’s a lot of adjectives!). For this outfit, I paired it with yet another Christmas present – the Frye Patty Riding Bootie. Ok, ok. I have a slight obsession with Frye. But you can’t blame me for loving good quality shoes! And I take really good care of them so I know they will last forevaaaa!

Now, I know leather pants have been in style for a bit, but I hadn’t jumped on the trend. One reason why? Fear. Fear of how my body/legs would look in them. So, while I was at Von Maur, I said “What the heck do you have to lose by trying on a pair?” (I should also add they were on the sale rack, so I was much more tempted to try them on.) These 7 For All Mankind faux leather pants seemed harmless…and had LOTS of stretch.
So much stretch that I actually had to size down! That’s not common when I try on jeans, so I was a little shocked…but I’ll take it!
And I loved them! They are actually really comfortable! The only negative I have is that the dye REALLY rubs off. Like on everything. It says to wash them before you wear them, and they are hand wash only. Ugh. Well, I wanted to wear them to the Timberlake concert that same night, so I was just hoping I didn’t rub dye off on anything too important 🙂
So with my new faux leather pants, I wanted to add a softer, lighter fabric shirt. I received this in my last Stitch Fix. I’m all about details, and this shirt fits the bill. Great print. Buttons down the back. Sheer (but came with the cami). Cutouts around the next and arms. It worked perfectly with my pants.
I love stripes. It’s kind of ridiculous how many striped pieces of clothing I own. But, if you love it, does it really matter? I think not.
I have been also been loving leggings. I have two pair that are fairly thick and keep my gams warm on chilly days.
So here are my two favorite things – stripes and leggings.
I love when Daisy Mae photobombs me – and gives me a big ol’ kiss!
Dress – French Connection; Leggings – Cache; Booties – Frye Regina Wedge; Watch – Michael Kors
As it gets colder, there is nothing better than dressing warm. And since I hate being cold, I love to dress in layers in the winter. This outfit kept me super warm. Just the way I like it.
To dress up my legging look, I added some sparkle with my necklace and earrings. It was just the right amount for work to make the outfit a little less casual.
Shirt – Banana Republic; Sweater – Gap; Leggings – Maddie M; Boots – Frye; Necklace and Earrings – Stella & Dot; Ring – Bulgari
I had been seeing a lot of sparkle plus plaid on Pinterest lately, so I thought I would give it a whirl. I love finding inspiration from other bloggers and Pinners. I have to say, this outfit is something I would probably never put together. But, I just needed to be inspired to step outside of my fashion comfort box.
At first, I had a sparkly cream sleeveless shirt on over my plaid shirt, but it looked horrid. So off that came! I thought I would stick to the same color scheme and throw on a navy sparkly t-shirt that I had. Voila! I think it looked pretty good, if I do say so myself.
On a side note, I can’t say enough good things about this plaid shirt. I wish they made more, and I need to grab one in the other color. It’s so comfortable and such a great shirt that you can mix and match so many different ways!
What do you think? Have you stepped outside of your fashion comfort zone lately?

When it’s cold out, I just want to be warm. I’d rather layer up than wear something too thin and be freezing. So when I saw these cozy and soft cable knit sweaters at the Gap, I knew this would be the perfect cold weather sweater.
We went up north of Asheville, North Carolina, to the mountains, and it was so beautiful. There were still some changing leaves on the trees, so orange, yellow, deep red leaves were everywhere. Growing up in the Midwest, the mountains were a trek to get to. Now we can get there in just a couple of hours, so we try to take advantage of it as much as possible.
This cable knit sweater was perfect for a day in the mountains. Kept me warm and looked stylish at the same time 🙂 And add my favorite pair of boots, and I was a happy, happy girl!
I love wearing boots. Love. It. I am a huge Frye fan, and I love being able to wear my favorite boots. Georgia has still been pretty warm, and I have to admit when I wore this, I was pretty much sweating in the afternoon (Boo!). But, it’s mid-October, people! It’s time to wear some boots. And a scarf!
I bought this scarf last year at Von Maur. I have worn it so many ways, I can’t even count. With colored denim, with skirts, with black, with cobalt blue, and the list goes on. I was always hesitant on wearing brown and black together. Why? I don’t know. I’m just weird that way I guess. So I opted for a cream sweater so I could wear my brown denim.
(Please excuse the massive cheese on my face…the hubs was making me laugh!)

Do I realize this happened a week ago? Well, yes. Yes, I do. But better late than never, right?
I’ve always loved football. I cheered for the high school team for all four years, so that’s when I really started loving the game…and understanding how it’s played. A part of me wishes I had gone to a college where we even had football. Sadly, Bradley U doesn’t. So that’s why I’m such a huge Iowa fan. Gotta love my dad and mom’s school.
I have to admit, I love college ball more than the NFL. But, I love when we get to go to games. Last week the Falcons played the Patriots…with an 8:30 p.m. start time (the NFL didn’t ask me when I usually went to bed and how cranky I would be the next day!). I’m the type of fan who like to wear the team swag. And it was such a beautiful night, I even got to bust out my short booties for the first time this season! So here’s my game night ensemble.
T-shirt – Victoria’s Secret Pink; Jeans – Old Navy; Boots – Frye; Watch – Michael Kors; Earrings – Simon Sebbag
I know I live in the ATL, but I love me some Tom Brady!!
It’s Tony G!!!
And here some the Falcons!
The Falcons ended up losing, but it was a great game to watch and be a part of the crowd!
