There’s nothing I love more than a fit and flare dress! (Ok, I do love a lot more, but this is a fashion blog!) The coloring of this Sail to Sable “At the Ferris Wheel” dress drew me in. They call it cabbage, but it’s far from that on my color wheel. It’s a soft green with coral accents. The flare is more structured too, which makes it fun to wear. I still can’t get enough of these Schutz caged wedges either. If you don’t have any white shoes in your closet, get some for summer! You’ll be amazed how much you wear them! And doesn’t the girl look so grown up?! Can’t believe she’ll be in 7th grade…time has flown by too quickly!
I stalked this dress for over a year…and my stalking paid off because I only paid $80 for this gorgeous beauty! Being patient is worth it sometimes I guess! 🙂
I just love the colors so much. It has my favorite cobalt blue and pinks, and I even love the brownish flowers they threw in there too. The fabric is thick and the dress is so well made. They still have this in many sizes on kate spade’s website for $196 – but I suggest you try your nearest kate spade outlet to see if they have it like I did.
Finally…I broke down and bought a Tory Burch Fitbit Flex holder. My colorful rubberized bands just didn’t make the cut with some of my clothing choices. And what a great investment this was! Feels just like a normal bracelet…and I don’t workout in it obviously. The rubberized bands still get used for that for sure.
Another day. Another maxi. I just can’t help myself! This Adelyn Rae maxi encompasses what I love – color, beautiful print, cute details, great price point. It’s just the perfect maxi for a summer dinner out. And it looks so good with my spray tan!
I know I wrote about these shoes the other day and they aren’t online, but they are my absolute favorite as of late! Not only that, but my Henri Bendel bracelets, too. They really go with everything!
I just also wanted to thank my husband for a wonderful time in Highlands, NC. If you’ve never been there before, you should! It’s such a wonderful little mountain community. The inn where we stay was recently purchased by Old Edwards Hospitality, which means you have access to all of their amenities now. So we made the quick drive to town every morning to workout in their fitness center. The staff here are the nicest people – and the breakfast and nightly appetizers (with free wine!) are amazing. We can’t recommend the Half-Mile Farm enough!
If you follow me on Instagram, you noticed this super fun dress last week! I love the print! I noticed today that it’s on super sale for $66.90 if you wanted to get one for yourself 🙂 Click here! They also have it in two solid colors and another print. If you travel a lot, J.McLaughlin fabrics are perfect as they never wrinkle for me. Perfect for when you are on the go!
And I can’t get enough of these Schutz wedges I bought when I was in NYC. I didn’t realize how much I needed white shoes in my closet! I can’t seem to find them online, but that caged look comes in many different colors…love these in natural.
Who doesn’t love a good Anthro sale?! This girl certainly does!! When I got the email this morning, and saw some of my favorite recent dresses on super sale, I just had to share!
Far Left: Maeve Elysian Maxi Dress – $49.95 (multiple colors)
Left: Mia Dress – $39.95
Right: Azores Halter Dress – $49.95 (two color options)
Far Right: Maeve Crosswise Dress – $49.95
And I can’t forget about the dotted linen dress I posted a couple of weeks back:
Happy shopping, my fellow fashionistas!!
Ted Baker, you did it again. Another great print on such lavish fabric. Even better, it was a surprise gift. Don’t you love when your husband buys you something because he thinks you’ll look good in it? Most anything Ted Baker I’ll love anyway 🙂
This dress also comes in black, which I definitely prefer the white. I think it makes the flowers and colors pop more, and y’all know I love color! I didn’t want to take any attention away from the dress, so I just paired it with a nude strappy heel. These new Steve Maddens I picked up are not the most comfortable, but they go with so much!
Y’all know I’m a huge sucker for dresses. Even a bigger sucker for fit and flare dresses! When I saw this color combo of teal and coral, I couldn’t resist (and I had a ton of Banana rewards). It’s so flowy and silky…and girlie. I kind of acted like I was five years old twirling around in it 🙂 When you feel good in your clothes, it’s amazing how it can change your whole mood for the day. This dress, it did just that. You can grab it on sale, but you have a better chance seeing if they have it in stores because it’s getting very low online. It’s totally worth the hunt though!
Shirtdresses can be tricky on me. I never know if the buttons are going to gap or not. I think most women have that problem with buttonup “whatevers” – shirts or dresses. I got this dress for a great deal online at Anthro when sale items were an additional percentage off. I ordered by standard size 6 – and it fit perfectly! It has a wonderful hidden hook right where it would typically gap. Now that is some smart designing right there!
I just love the not-so-perfect polka dots. And even though it’s linen, it really didn’t wrinkle that bad at all! The belt is also adjustable, so you don’t have to worry about having enough notches. This dress is a win-win.
Maxi dresses have definitely become a staple in my wardrobe. Nothing is easier to me in the mornings when I need a quick go-to outfit. This maxi from The Limited is full of beautiful colors, has pockets, and is so comfortable! I just happened to have this perfect goldish belt in my closet for a pop of color. Easy peasy outfit! This dress is on super sale too…grab it while you can (but size down)!
I stalked this Eliza J maxi dress last year. And I’m so glad I did…I got it on the Von Maur sales rack for a whopping $47! Virtually free, right?! I love maxi dresses, and this one checks off tons of my favorite things – belt, pleats, color, floral pattern, fun neckline. There are so many Eliza J dresses that I have on my wish list. They are just so feminine and girlie – just the perfect maxis. Let’s look at some of the great Eliza J options out right now (click on the picture for more details)…some of these are already on sale! If you have a baby shower, wedding, or any event where you want to look your best, her dresses are great!
If you’ve ever read my blog before, you know it’s hard for me to resist Ted Baker London. Especially when it’s on super sale. Let me present Exhibit A. This absolutely adorable cherry dress I got at Von Maur for…wait for it…wait for it…$139! Originally $279. (Again, I’ve professed my love for Von Maur over and over again on this blog, too!)
I’ll admit I stalked this dress. I knew from the moment I spotted it that I would love it. The adorable pattern, the bows, the high waist, the pleats in the back, uh yeah. It is a winner in my book. The fabric has such a wonderful feel and of course the skirt part has a navy lining underneath. This was totally worth it…as all of the Ted’s I own are 🙂 I can’t even tell you how many of his dresses I am eyeing now; I think I have about six or seven on my wish list. Did I mention my birthday is coming up?? (insert big cheesy grin here)
If you have followed my blog at all, y’all know I love dresses. I have a ton for spring and summer, but not as many for fall and winter. I saw this dress at the Gap, and knew I could wear this so many different ways! So I’ll show you three simple ways I wore it:
First, just by itself with boots. Sometimes plain is the way to go.
Second, add a scarf. A simple addition can give it a whole new look!
Last but not least, add a jacket. Oftentimes I forget about my denim jacket! Silly me, I know. 🙂
Dress – Gap (on sale!); Scarf – via Von Maur (old but similar here); Boots – Enzo Angiolini (oldie but goody); Jacket – Big Star (old but similar here); Earrings – Stella & Dot (retired); Watch – Rolex; Bracelets – David Yurman (similar) and Henri Bendel (old)
Well, well, well. Long time no blog. Work has been taking 110% of my time lately. I’m in the employee benefit space, so 4th quarter is most definitely my busiest time of year…trying to make many clients happy! I’m just so thankful I work with an amazing communication team!
So…I wore this dress a few weeks ago. It came out in the spring, but to me personally, I feel this dress looks more like fall. I loved the fun zipper on the leg. I wore the zipper closed all day when I was at work. I didn’t realize how cute it was unzipped until I got home. Oops!!
It was time to bust out the booties, too! I got these Coach booties last year at Nordstrom’s anniversary sale and these babies have gotten so much wear! I wear them a lot more than I thought I would. I’m so glad the weather has started to cool down and I could dust off the booties.
Daisy wanted to photobomb me, so I thought I would give her a little camera time. And she coordinated so well with her black and white 🙂
This dress is called the Wilma. And the first thing I think of…Wilma Flintstone. Now those were the good ol’ days of hand drawn animated cartoons…even though that show was originally out before my day 🙂 But not to digress, I hadn’t been in BCBG forever. I wasn’t surprised they had beautiful fabrics and prints for summer. I love this jacquard dress, but it is quite heavy for summer. Despite that, it’s hard not to love a good A-line dress!
Dress – BCBGMAXAZRIA Wilma; Shoes – Charles by Charles David (way old); Earrings – boutique; Bracelets – Henri Bendel, Stella & Dot, Coach, costume piece from my Gigi; Watch – Rolex
Are y’all tired of seeing my Annie Griffin finds at the warehouse sale?! Well, good thing this is my last one 🙂 Like the Lindsay dress I talked about last week, I got this gorgeous print dress for $82. Not only is the print beautiful and colorful, it’s comfortable! Has a nice elastic around the waist in case for over eating at dinner. I’m a sucka for interesting backs, too. This one fits the bill. For this hot and humid night in Hilton Head, it kept me somewhat cool – if that was possible.
The girl was also excited she could fit into a couple of dresses at Francesca’s. I remember when I could finally shop in the junior’s section, I thought that was just awesome. I just wish she would stop growing so fast!!
I scored at the Annie Griffin Warehouse Sale a while back. And it was fitting that I got the “Lindsey” dress with my coworker Lindsey. It was meant to be 🙂
I remember trying this dress on at Poppy’s in the spring, but the price tag definitely jumped out at me. Waiting paid off because I scored this beauty for $83! Uh…yes please!
I thought this was a perfect dress for my annual beach trip to Hilton Head Island! The colors just seem so summery and beachy to me. Even though I love to dress up, I loved this trip for the fact I probably put a full face of makeup on only twice. We ate so much at the house we rented (thanks to my mom, aunt, and uncle for doing most of the cooking!).
And look – I could even jump in this dress! I love being silly with my kiddos, and I think they love it, too ❤
I love dresses. If you have read by blog at all, you know that is a completely true statement. I prefer wearing dresses and skirts over pants or shorts any day. With the scorching temps in the ATL, dresses are just so much cooler. I’m all about comfort.
I spotted this fun denim dress on the Anthro sales rack. The flash on the camera makes the pattern pop more. In person, the pattern seems a little darker. But it has fantastic stretch – enough that I sized down. Also, this dress would be so easy to put with flat sandals to dress it down a bit.
Has anyone else found it so hard to resist all of these mid-summer sales?!
Annie Griffin has wonderful prints. Wonderful fabrics. But…the label is no longer going to be designing clothes 😦 So those of us in the Atlanta area got to partake on the warehouse sale last week! I scored this awesome Kelly Shift Dress in Medallion. It was an amazing deal, and y’all know I’m a sucker for a deal! I actually snagged it from a woman who didn’t like it. I did the whole “um, are you going to get that?” thing. No shame. I was surprised I liked the shift style, but it fit great. It wasn’t too tight around the hip and thigh area at all. Score one for me! I wore this out for dinner and I got so many compliments. Score another one!
I am not much of a clutch person, but I thought having a cute nude clutch would be a good addition to my purse collection. I love how it has a chain to carry on my shoulder…or I could carry it as a true clutch. Versatility at its best.
Oh fit and flare…how I love thee…let me count the ways. This style of dress is by far my most favorite. It flatters almost every figure, and I love the way it fits my body type. I am always drawn to the navy and green combo; it’s been a favorite of mine for a long time. So when I saw this at Nordstrom’s big sale a few weeks ago, I knew I had to try it on. It ran small, so I had to order a size up. Of course they didn’t have the larger size, so I had to order it from another store. But, I love how Nordstrom will ship it to you for free!
Thought I would pair the dress with my absolute favorite brown sandals, which I may add that I have had for six years now. They go with so much! I remember my momma buying me these for my birthday one year. What a great present that has lasted so many seasons now! Gotta love great gifts like that 🙂
Dress – Eliza J Striped Fit and Flare; Shoes – Charles by Charles David (old); Watch – Rolex; Bracelets – Henri Bendel and Spartina (both old); Earrings – Coach (old)
Linking up with The Pleated Poppy.
