Typically this type of blouse is not something I would pick up, but I loved the beautiful print. And I think the fluted sleeves are so much fun. There are so many colors that would go with this top. I have had this great J. Crew No. 2 pencil skirt forever, but I tried a light purple on with it too and it looked pretty. The Banana Republic website has a white skirt with it, but if you’ve followed me at all, y’all know I much rather prefer color over neutrals. This top is on sale right now, so don’t miss out on a great deal!
Spring has sprung…or has it? The temperatures in the south have been so crazy! It’s 80. It’s 55. It’s 67. Make. Up. Your. Mind. But Mother Nature has been very indecisive lately. But…it doesn’t stop me from wearing a fun floral top and bright pencil skirt. So take that, Mother Nature.
I got this blouse in a Stitch Fix. I had asked my stylist for fun print tops, and this one definitely delivered. There’s so many ways to style this blouse, but I thought it would be fun with a bright No. 2 pencil skirt from J. Crew. These skirts are so timeless; and they always go on sale!
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, I love a good blouse paired with skinny jeans. I instantly fell for this Printed Logan Blouse from The Limited. One thing I love about it? The not-too-thick-not-too-thin material. Lately there are so many blouses out there that are so thin you have to wear a cami under them. Ugh! This one is perfect where no cami is needed! Can we also talk about the huge variety of colors? The possibilities are endless really – light blue pencil skirt, mint jeans, orange ankle pants. I thought I would pull out the orange color with these necklace I got forever ago at Versona.
These Vince Camuto Effel sandals were a huge hit last year, and they no longer make them. BUT…there is a pair that is very similar, the Evel. It comes in three great colors.
Happy spring, everyone!!
Shirt – The Limited Printed Logan (2 for $59 right now – in many patterns and solids!); Shoes – Vince Camuto Effel (similar here); Jeans – AG Absolute Legging; Necklace – Versona (old); Bracelets – Kendra Scott, Henri Bendel, Michael Kors (all old); Watch – Rolex
I receive a Stitch Fix every other month. I’ve found that is a good frequency for me…especially since I find myself shopping so much. (I’m sure you are shocked by that statement.) I have the same stylist each time, and I think she does a great job getting my style. Of course there have been some misses, but I think that’s more for the fact that certain items of clothing just fit my body different once they are on.
If you have never fixed before – or you have without much luck – my best advice is to be super specific with your note to the stylist. You will receive an email before your fix is pulled together, so be sure to take a few moments to write them a note about what you want. In this last fix, I told her that I wanted to see flowy blouses, preferably with a pattern and not see through, and a pencil skirt option. And that’s exactly what she sent!
Fun patterned blouse, check and check!
Fun pattern. Check. But, the crochet hit on my chest wrong, so I decided to send this one back.
The olive color is something I don’t have a lot of, and I loved the sequin detail and tie sleeves.
I wanted to love this blouse…but the cut out shoulders were just not doing it for me. I didn’t want to wear a strapless bra with this, and the bra straps would show no matter what bra I had on. I love the back of this and the bright hot pink color.
This is the first pull-on pencil skirt I’ve ever tried on. I was skeptical at first, but I loved it on. And it fit like a glove!
Stitch Fix is so fun! If you haven’t tried it before, you are missing out. You can sign up here! You are not obligated to keep anything you don’t want to!
Sometimes a beautiful shirt just makes me happy. Yep. This one included. I scored this beauty at Annie Griffin’s warehouse sale in Atlanta. I just fell in love with the colors. I’ve added quite a few silk blouses to my closet. They are just easy outfits – just pair it with skinnies and some great jewelry…and walk out the door! Easy peasy.
And yes, I’ve jumped on the Kendra Scott Rayne bandwagon. But this necklace goes with so much! Versatile jewelry is the best kind of jewelry.
Shirt – Annie Griffin (similar, but a lot more than I paid!); Jeans – AG Absolute Legging; Shoes – Isaac Mizrahi (no longer available); Necklace – Kendra Scott; Earrings – Kendra Scott; Bracelet – Henri Bendel; Sunnies – kate spade
When I first put this outfit together, I thought “Is this me?” “Is this too trendy?” But, one of the things I always try to do…step outside of my comfort zone.
With maxi skirts in the summer, I never paired them with a flowy shirt. Why? I have no idea. But I have a couple of coworkers I gathered inspiration from, and the result was this outfit.
Another plus – it was so comfortable! 🙂
The last two years, I’ve been obsessed with button ups. I remember a time where I think I owned one white button up shirt and that was it. I’m ashamed to admit how many button ups I have now! There are such versatile shirts – dress them up or down, layer them, wear them untucked, tucked in. Endless possibilities. And how can you not love a cute heart print? (And it’s on clearance at J. Crew Factory!)
And these booties I got at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this summer have been worn a ton already! They were a great investment and being Coach, I know they are going to last forevaaaaaaa!
I’ve realized that I own a lot of animal print. But one may ask, is there such a thing as too much animal print? Not in my book.
A few weeks ago, I found great pieces at Banana Republic. I walked out of there with three silk blouses. This being one of them. I stuck by my rule of thinking of three ways to wear this before I bought it, and this being one way. When browsing other fashion blogs or even Pinterest, I love the look of a flowy blouse with skinny pants.
These brown pants are also from BR, and they labeled them as leggings. I love how they fit. They have a faux button closure and small pockets. (I don’t seem them online or I would link them.) The legs are also skinny enough where I could easily tuck them into my boots. I wouldn’t really classify them as leggings because they are much thicker than any other legging I own.
This was such an easy outfit to put together – I plan on wearing this a lot!
Blouse and Pants – Banana Repulic; Boots – Enzo Angiolini; Watch – Michael Kors; Necklace – Stella & Dot
