Over spring break this year, we went on our fifth Disney Cruise. Yes, fifth. Yes, we love them. Obviously. 🙂 We went on the Fantasy again and sailed to the Western Caribbean making stops at Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Jamaica, and Castaway Cay (Disney’s private island). The Fantasy and Dream are sister ships that set sail a few years ago. They are bigger than the Magic and Wonder and are just wonderful. My favorite part – the adult restaurant, Remy. I’ve been fortunate to eat at fantastic places in my life, and Remy is the #1 restaurant I’ve ever eaten at. This was also the Star Wars Day at Sea cruise, and this Star Wars family loved every minute of it!
But, this isn’t a travel blog…it’s a fashion blog. Another reason I love cruises is getting to dress up for dinner. Do you have to? No. But, it’s me. C’mon, do you think I’d really NOT dress up for dinner?! 🙂 Here’s what I wore this year.
I love Lilly Pulitzer, and this Sloane maxi (some other fun patterns here) was perfect for getting on the ship. So comfortable! Even though I’m just shy of 5’8″, I did have to get it hemmed a little so I didn’t have to wear wedges with it.
I got this on super sale last year. I knew that the cruise would be the perfect place to wear it – and I was right. (Here’s a similar style this year.) And these Schutz cage wedges I got last year in NYC have continued to be a favorite. Here’s a different version.
This Ted Baker dress I picked up two years ago for $90. This was the perfect dress for formal night! And these Michael Antonio silver shoes I got off Amazon for $23! I didn’t want to spend a fortune on silver shoes I know I wouldn’t wear very much at all! Amazon has everything 🙂 The girl is wearing a Lilly Pulitzer dress I wore on a cruise four years ago. My baby is growing up 😦
This night, we ate in Remy. When you eat in Remy, you are expected to dress appropriately. So yay for me to get to dress up again! This Halston Heritage dress had been sitting in my closet (another huge sale item) and was waiting for me to wear it. And I’ve had these DVF shoes forever…who doesn’t love a good leopard print?!
I posted about this great dress a few weeks ago. It’s on sale!
Most days were spent in a swimsuit, but this day we went out to walk around the Falmouth, Jamaica port. I got this $19 Lilly Pulitzer Rilo tube top last year. So glad I did since they didn’t come out with this style this year. The shorts were an Old Navy special! And you’ve seen these Kendra Scott pink Danielle earrings a few times this trip…they went with this top perfectly! Jack Rogers Lauren sandals are still a fav from last year.
When I saw this dress on Instagram, and it was on sale, I immediately sent the link to my hubby for Christmas. I was so happy he got it for me! This Parker dress is one of my favorites now! So simple but so beautiful. It also goes perfect with my Louboutin nude heels.
My hubby got me this Ted Baker dress last year for Mother’s Day, and I knew I wanted to wear it again on the cruise. If you are a RHOATL fan, you will recognize that Porscha wore this dress in her interviews, but I think I wore it better. LOL
I posted the Lilly Pulitzer Clara dress last year…and then I picked up this one on super sale. I just love how flowy these dresses are. Means you can eat a lot and not even notice! 🙂 Here are a few great patterns left from last year here and here. (This runs so big, you want to size down.) Oh and look, again with the Kendra Scott earrings and Schutz wedges!
If you have any Disney cruise questions, feel free to leave a comment with questions!
We just got back from spring break – and we went on another Disney cruise. As always, it was fantastic. Of course I loved dressing up every night too! I’m sure you are all shocked. 😉
When I spotted this off-the-shoulder dress at Banana, I fell in love. It stays in place, which is key with an off-the-shoulder. It didn’t rise up once and I didn’t have to mess with it at all. With the hidden inside zipper, it does a great job of accentuating the waist line. Overall, it is such a fun dress! Like always, Banana had it on sale, so I got it for 50% off – score!
And here’s my not-so-little princess with the real princess, Cinderella. We had fun taking our pictures with all of the characters!
On the girl – Lilly Pulitzer (last season on super sale)
The second I saw this maxi, I knew I had to try it on. I love a good maxi dress, especially one that I can wear to work too! This print is so pretty…mix of different blues, oranges, greens…with pops of white. It’s actually polyester, but feels silky. But that also means there is zero stretch, which is not ideal, but it has a beautiful flow to it when you walk. It’s almost sold out online in the white version, but they have a lot of the blue color. Banana always has sales…so if you just watch, I’m sure you can score this for 40% off or more. I have a Banana card and got it for 50% off and used rewards. 🙂 And I scored tons of compliments when I wore it – an added bonus!
Dress – Banana Republic Bold Floral Maxi; Shoes – Coach Rosemary Floral Rivets (last season, but just scored at the Rack), Jacket – Big Star (old, but similar); Watch – Rolex; Tory Burch Fitbit bracelet; Lagos (old) and David Yurman bracelets; Earrings – Stella & Dot (old); Ring – Lagos
When I was on vacation, I stopped at a partner Lilly store, S. M. Bradford in Wexford. They have SO. MUCH. LILLY. What was even better? They had so much Lilly ON SALE. Now that’s my kind of Lilly! I just love the print on this Dahlia pleated sleeveless top. Love it even more with white jeans (and I won’t point out the two tiny chocolate spots I have on them!).
Top – Lilly Pulitzer Dahlia Pleated Front Top; Jeans – Banana Republic Ankle (on sale!); Wedges – Via Spiga (old); Necklace – Stella & Dot; Bracelets – Henri Bendel (one is sold out but the Petite Enamel is on sale still); Tory Burch Fitbit Flex holder (on sale in silver)
This adorable shirt is on sale for $29.99! It’s such a pretty light purple in person…didn’t quite photograph as I would have liked. The laser cuts are such a cute detail, and I love the button close in the back. And it pairs great with these Banana Republic white skinny ankle jeans – which are on sale for $68!
And let’s not forget my new favorite Henri Bendel bracelets. I wrote about the amazing sale this weekend. Pick these up before they are gone!
Shirt – Banana Republic Laser Cut Crepe Tank; Jeans – Banana Republic Skinny Ankle; Bracelets – Cote D’Azure Charm Cuff $27.20, Petite Enamel Hinged Cuff $31.20; Necklace – Henri Bendel Petal Station Long Necklace $47.20 (sold out in white but still in other colors); Shoes – Frye (old – but similar here)
Y’all know I’m a huge sucker for dresses. Even a bigger sucker for fit and flare dresses! When I saw this color combo of teal and coral, I couldn’t resist (and I had a ton of Banana rewards). It’s so flowy and silky…and girlie. I kind of acted like I was five years old twirling around in it 🙂 When you feel good in your clothes, it’s amazing how it can change your whole mood for the day. This dress, it did just that. You can grab it on sale, but you have a better chance seeing if they have it in stores because it’s getting very low online. It’s totally worth the hunt though!
It’s not too often that you see me in black or gray…I’m just a girl who loves color. But sometimes you get the cutest sweater in your stitch fix box that you can’t help but fall in love! My favorite part of this sweater? The gray patches on the elbows. Cute details make me happy…it’s the little things, people 🙂
If you’ve read my blog on and off, you know I’m a huge Frye fan. These Paige riding boots are going strong on their third year. They just fit like a glove and are so well made. I know the price of Fryes can be a turn off for some, but the quality and craftsmanship of these boots are in a league of their own. I couldn’t recommend these boots more! And they come in a ton of colors!
Fall weather is an enigma to me. One day it’s 75, the next it’s 50. So if I’m wearing sweaters in this weird transition, I try to make sure they are somewhat thin where I won’t break into a nasty sweat the second I step outside in the afternoon.
This sweater is now one of my favorites. I won’t lie. I have this in two colors. It’s nice and thin, and I love how it’s long in the back…you could easily get away with wearing legging with this and it would easily cover your assets. 🙂 And did I mention it’s on sale? And I’m sure Banana will have a wicked good sale for Black Friday, so it will be even cheaper!
And look at these fur babies! They constantly photobomb me, so I thought I would give them a little face time.
Mixing patterns can be so much fun. When I first got this skirt from Banana Republic, I really didn’t think about wearing it with polka dots…but when I was going to wear it to work, this shirt just jumped out at me. I tend to keep my pattern mixing to the same color family, which keeps it easy. I don’t want to get too funky 🙂 With the monochromatic colors, I love choosing a color to pop out. These pink Sam Edelman beauties were it! I have to admit I’m still breaking these in; my pigs don’t love the pointy toes. Ha!
Longer blouses make me happy. I love when I can wear tight jeggings and not worry about my booty being too out there at work. I love the length of this Banana Republic striped boyfriend blouse. The only downside to this light colored blouse is how sheer it is; definitely had to wear a cami underneath. But I paired it with these Old Navy jeggings from last year. Yep, they totally remind me of maternity pants though…great elastic waist. Ha! I know Kendra Scott is super hot right now, but I am so glad I jumped on the Rayne necklace bandwagon. I wear this bad boy ALL the time. It was such a great purchase – highly recommend.
Pencil skirts = one of my favorite clothing items. I own quite a few and am always on the search for great patterns. Well…I found one! For one, blue is my favorite color. And two, this pattern is fantastic. The skirt doesn’t have any stretch factor, which I have to say I like. In my opinion, when pencil skirts don’t have a lot of stretch, it makes them lay better.
There are plenty of way you can style this skirt, but I thought I’d go all out on the blue and pair it with this button up. I picked this up at the Gap a few years ago, and it goes with so much. Fantastic staple to any wardrobe.
The plaid shirt. It’s my favorite fall and winter item! I keep telling myself enough with the plaid, but there are so many great plaids out there! And in the colder months, I do love layering them under a cozy sweater. One thing I love about this Banana Republic shirt is the reversed print on the inside. It’s a great navy gingham. And let’s not forget to mention how soft it is! Pretty much like wearing a pajama shirt 🙂 (And it’s on sale – even bettaaaahhhh!)
I was on the hunt for some great (and comfortable) brown ankle booties. Do you know where I found these? The Aerosoles outlet store! I thought Aerosoles were kind of “old lady” shoes for their comfort factor, but they had some very cute styles! I have become a fan…and I got a TON of compliments on them when I wore them to work.
Another great find at J. Crew Factory was this jeweled necklace. It goes with literally everything. And what a bargain getting it half off for around $25.
Saturday in the ATL was definitely shorts weather. Now, I admit, I have a love-hate relationship with shorts. I really only like them when I wear wedges. And as I have gotten older, I have to make sure the shorts I choose to wear are not tight against my legs…especially when I wear them with sandals. They just end up making my legs look stumpy. No thank you.
I shopped my closet and dug out these ridiculously comfy silky-type shorts from Banana last year. Floral prints are hot right now, so yay me for keeping them 🙂
Shirt – Gap (old); Shorts – Banana Republic (old); Wedges – 7 for all Mankind (old); Sunnies – Kate Spade; Bracelet – Henri Bendel (old); Watch – Rolex; Earrings – The Limited (old); Fitbit Flex 🙂
Now, I am very fair skinned. As in someone once teased me by calling me Casper The Ghost. But, I just kept thinking in the back of my head, “Go ahead and make fun of me, sun worshipper. When we’re both 50, I’ll look 40 and you’ll look 60 with sun damage.” So, that’s that. 🙂
I’ve been hesitant to wear white because I’m so pale. But, when I tried on this dress at Banana, I knew I had to have it. The fit. The flare. The comfy fabric. The A-line. White dresses have been all the rage this summer. And it doesn’t look bad – the white on white. Just added some pops of color – and voila. I’m embracing the pale!
Dress – Banana Republic (sold out); Shoes – Seychelles; Bracelets – Henri Bendel and Michael Kors; Earrings – Banana Republic; Watch – Michael Kors

I’ve had a love/hate relationship with shorts for the past few years. There are so many cute styles, I’ve tried to love more than hate lately.
My thighs have always been muscular. So, to embrace my muscles, I’ve had to learn how to shop for the right type of shorts. It’s important to feel comfortable in your clothes, right? So I’ve learned that I possibly have to size up to get them to fit properly. Because I do not want to look like some of those teenagers I see at the mall with teeny tiny shorts that are only 1 cm longer than their underwear…or are so tight it looks like their circulation is about ready to be cut off!
And I have to admit, I love shorts when I have a (fake) tan on my legs. For some reason a tan just makes them look better – at least to me anyway 🙂 So I brought these cute navy shorts with me on vacation. Threw them on for a day of shopping with my momma.
Top, Shorts, Belt – Banana Republic; Bracelets – Michael Kors and Spartina; Sunnies – Louis Vuitton; Sandals – Sam Edelman
Last Friday I turned 34. It’s crazy how fast time goes by. When I was 24 and had my first baby, I remember thinking to myself, “Gosh, when I’m 34, she’ll be 10.”
I’m 34. And my first baby is going to be 10 in a few weeks. (insert small tears here!)
But, to me, age is just a number. I feel better now than I ever have. I’ve never been in better shape or in better tune with my body. With age comes wisdom – or at least it has in my book. One thing that has changed is my love for dresses – ha! Living in the south where it gets hot and sticky, I love wearing dresses. And I love this color of blue…that’s something that hasn’t changed. Blue is my fav.
I got this little diddy at Banana a few weeks ago. I just love everything about it – the neckline, the fit, the flare of the skirt, exposed zipper, the length. I could have put so many different colors with this dress, which makes it so versatile. I decided to wear my multi-colored wedges. I love these!
I have never been a huge fan of white jeans…until last year. It took me forever to find the right pair. The fabric had to be thick and not see through and have just enough stretch. I found them at Madewell on sale – score! And I was surprised I wore them so much.
So when I saw these at Banana Republic (on sale!), I had to try them. They have the smallest pop of color with the navy piping down the sides. The fabric is not super thick, but not see through either. I’m 5’8″ and they hit perfectly at my ankle. Love when I don’t have to get my jeans hemmed!
I wasn’t sure if I could bust out the white jeans yet…you know, that silly white rule that you grew up with. No white before Memorial Day? All I have to say is WHATEVAAAAH! When it’s 75 degrees outside, it’s time for white jeans. And wedges. ‘Nough said.
Top – Banana Republic (in store, but not online); Jeans – Banana Republic; Wedges – 7 for all Mankind; Bracelets – Stella & Dot and Henri Bendel and Fitbit Flex :); Watch – Michael Kors

When I was in Chicago last weekend, I made a style appointment at the Banana Republic on Michigan Ave. It’s a free service – and what a great way to get style tips from people who work in this industry every day. Not to mention this store is the most amazing BR I’ve ever been in!!
I had a wonderful girl help me. Although she really didn’t teach me much that I didn’t already know – it was awesome having someone pull a ton of stuff for me to try on! I was looking for spring and summer items, as well as some things I could take on an upcoming trip.
Another thing that was so great – it was like the whole store was on sale with another 40% off of sale items! Ahhhhhhh yeeeeaaaaahhhhh! So let’s see what she pulled for me!
Here’s the first round of things we pulled.
I love stripes. This dress also has a great opening in the back. A nice thick fabric…good for an end-of-winter/transitioning-to-spring dress.
These shorts are fabulous – a great jacquard fabric. I can’t find them online, but they had the navy color and a great mint color. Sadly, the mint wasn’t in my size 😦 And the striped shirt is very comfortable and would go with so much.
While I love peplum tops, this one just made my girls look absolutely gigantic. I love how it made my waist look tiny, but it was just a little too much. It’s kind of comical comparing this top on me versus the model online!
Bummed I couldn’t find either one of these below online – this great blouse or these shorts. The blouse is a great mint color; it is pretty sheer, so a cami is definitely needed. And these shorts are all around great – print, fabric, and fit. They are elastic waist and not tight around the legs at all.
I have never been a huge white denim fan, but I’m becoming one. And these have just the right amount of detail with the navy piping. Sizing is a little crazy…the stylist actually brought me in four pairs of the same size because she said they can all be cut differently. And she was right! Now, let’s move on to this top…what cute detail! It’s polyester and zips up the back.
I can’t find this top online either, but it’s a great flowy top and has gold buttons up the back. I love cute details like that. And it looks so good with these white jeans!
Again, love the details on the top. This was online, but I think it sold out because now I can’t find it. It’s flowy and fun – I can see it with black shorts and wedges to dress it up a little.
Then…she brought me a few more things that were all on the sales rack!
I was hesitant to try this dress on, but I can see wearing it in the spring and fall. Love clothes that I can wear in multiple seasons. I love the hunter green color, even though they only have the turquoise one online.
I absolutely LOVE the color of this dress – and the fabric. But on me, it bunched a little around my thighs. Not because it was tight, the fabric just laid on me wrong.
Like I said, I’m drawn to stripes, BUT…the size 6 was a little big around my waist, and I think if I tried on a 4, it would have been too tight around the girls. I didn’t know if I loved the black pleats either. But, the fabric was nice and it was really comfortable.
A dress with pockets? Yes, yes, yes! And this was a great price. But it laid a little funny on my chest. It kind of stuck out a little. It was a great tweed that wasn’t itchy at all.
If you are close to a Banana Republic, I suggest you try and get in there before the 26th. It is an additional 40% off of the sale price! Another reason to get in the store? I find they actually mark items down further than they are online. For instance, some of these pieces I bought above were cheaper in the store – and I probably wouldn’t have purchased them if they were the price online.
Keep checking back to the blog to see what pieces I purchased and which ones I passed on!
In the south, I’ve seen more monograms than ever before. Not sure why it’s so popular down here, but it just is. I’ve even seen monogram car decals. Yes, you read that right. People actually have monogrammed initials on their back car windows.
Well, I thought I would jump on the bandwagon with this sweater for three reasons – 1. I love C. Wonder 2. I love the pink and navy combo of this sweater and 3. I knew exactly how I would style it. Oh…and if I have to add in a #4, the price was just right!
Now that I think about it, it’s also a little Laverne-esque, don’t you think? She sported the giant L back in the ’70s, so I thought why not sport a big E in the ’10s! I of course had to prep mine up a little with the collared shirt underneath. It’s my thing. 🙂
Sweater – C. Wonder (similar); Shirt – Banana Republic; Jeans – Old Navy; Booties – Tory Burch; Watch – Michael Kors
Do you have any monogrammed clothing items?
The other day, I posted about my trip to Boston. I went up there to attend my husband’s annual work party. And I have to say for a work party – it was a blast. With about 1,000 people there, everyone was having a great time. Eating, drinking, and dancing. What a fun company!
I’ve had this dress from Banana Republic for a while, and I absolutely loved it. I hate taking pictures with my little Sure Shot, but when it has to fit in a clutch, it’s all I got! 🙂 The hot pink piping is my favorite part – and I’ve always like the red and pink combo. I guess it was perfect for around Valentine’s Day.
Dress – Banana Republic (on sale!); Bracelet – J. Crew; Shoes – Target
The next night, we headed to a great sushi place for dinner. Of course I wanted to wear another dress. This Juicy Couture dress was on sale right before Christmas. It was one of those “Hey, husband, I want this dress. Can you order it and put it under the tree for me?” It’s a great knit dress with cute jewels at the top. I knew I wanted to wear tights, since it was a wee bit chilly in Boston. And let’s not forget to mention how much I love the zipper that goes all the way down the back. It’s all about the details in my book.
Dress – Juicy Couture; Bracelet – Stella & Dot; Tights – DKNY; Booties – Vince Camuto
Do you love to dress up as much as I do?
